If this isn't hypocrisy on behalf of the EU, what is? BALI, Indonesia (AP) - European nations threatened Thursday to boycott U.S.-sponsored climate talks next month unless the Bush administration compromises and agrees to a "road map" for reducing greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.
OK, so you want us to have summits and talk though every single problem in the world, particularly even that of Iran. We agreed to talk and have summits, to do our best through conferences to resolve the problem in spite of differing views.
Now you will boycott us when we desire to talk unless there is a road map already in place? This is hypocritical -- EU nations want only dialog but suddenly they are not for it unless it appears they will get their way?
With the U.N. climate conference in its final hours, Nobel laureate Al Gore said the United States was "principally responsible" for blocking progress here toward an agreement on launching negotiations to replace the Kyoto Protocol when it expires in 2012.

Always to show himself where he stands, Al Gore stands against his own country having a climate conference.
Way to go, Gore, you are really showing that you stand with the EU's obstinate stance.
