Ever since I got my huge widescreen monitor, I've had issues with using the wacom for drawing.
I got myself a bamboo, and everything is well in the world again! (The bamboo has the typical widescreen 8x5 aspect ratio)

I will be editing this post later with a funny joke when you get some serious replies. I do not want to start this thread off on the wrong foot. That is terrible behavior.

Well, the only thing I don't like about the pic is the wierd bend a little ways above where her ankle should be.
Post some of your other stuff, too! The librarian one is my favorite!

So I found a great tutorial online with instructions on how to use some interesting features in photoshop, and this is what happened!

And here's a comparison to what I was doing prior (This version next to the sketched out idea that I called finished before)

I still have some things to clean up on her, but I'm fairly happy with her. My best friend roleplays, and this is her most recent character for her Sunday campaign. I had a good amount of artistic license with this one, but she ended up loving it anyway!

I really really like this one. Her face is beutiful! It looks so real. I know that look really well and I can't stop staring at it. I almost would rather you left it alone but I want to see how it fills out as well.

I've been meaning to re-work that one, actually, but I'm worried that it won't be nearly as gentle and light of a drawing.

i have to agree with both GW & Tadao.
first, GW's pick.
nicely drawn, and you have captured the shy and/or disgust emotion of how a nice gentle girl would look like. AND GLASSES!
and secondly, Tadao's pick.
naked or not is actually not an issue for me, but it's the overall looks & colors that took my breath away. especially her eyes... those eyes...:hypno
"lady, i'm all yours..."
generally, i can see you usually used pastel like tone for the sketch, and more vivid colors on the final touch-ups. and it all looks great. the one i like the most is actually the one you did for your friend's role play. the way you make the "lighting" effect is just beautiful.:love try adding more tiny details on the dress and sword, but with the same silvery tone. it'll be good. yeah.

I am going to sleep. I still have to clean up and make the lines on Boris (polar bear) more defined and gentle, but after that, i'm coloring.

This is a character from the same campaign as my friend's (her character is the girl on the polar bear). I still need to put markings on him after cleaning up lines and coloring. Just letting y'all know what I've been up to artistically. I would appreciate any technical critiques on this (not idealogical), thanks!
PS - I am terrible with male anatomy. I had to reference musculature charts the entire time >:

try move the mouth upper, closer to the nose, but not the chin. and the palm should be bigger. otherwise, it's ok.

so what program you are using?
i usually open a new layer, then i start doin' cover-up's over the section i did wrong, then i merge the layers.
usually i'll separate the file in few layers. Outline, Shading, Color & Finally BG as the lowest. Outline will always stays on top to avoid hassle when i need to redo any part that fucked up.
i don't really know what to say:(
don't rush, and you'll get it right. there's one time when i was rushing an assignment that need to pass up the next day, the comp suddenly GONE BLUE. (i use my office's old pc while i waiting for my new macbook. and worst of all, i have a bad habit of not saving my file in the middle of my work.) at that moment, i was real pissed that if i happens to met Bill any day, i swear to god i' gonna rip his balls out. yeah. i'm that pissed.

I have a lot of layers, actually. I use photoshop cs3. I use groups and all, so if i need to change the tone of, say, her clothes, or her skin is too red, i can edit that easily with adjustment layers. There will be about 5 or 6 layers to edit if i want to edit on the originals. it's irritating :<
