So, I've just seen this tonight. I wasn't plannin' on it, but I happened to tune into it just as it started.

I have to say it wasn't that bad... for a FOX fare it was definetly great ('cause most of FOX is crap, ha ha). I expected a snarky, whiney John Connor (it'd be faithful to T2, but c'mon now). While I'm all for strong female character, I had expected ball bashing amazons, and while the Feminator was a bit too... human (still bit wooden, but I still could chalk this up to her being a poor actress) she wasn't terrible.

The plot wasn't really engaging, but stayed true to the formula.

As for special effects... They were decent. Good thing they hadn't decided for a show til now.

The big thing is: Like I pointed out, the Feminator is a bit more life-like than previous iterations, and givin that this is network television, I expected some pervese relationship between John and his robo bodyguard. I may be right, though, at one point she ate a chip, hinting at some organic quality to her, which means THEY'RE DEFINITELY GETTING IT ON. :orgasm

What would you have given it?

EDIT: Yeah, I realise I misspelled chronicles

I felt the same way. The show is definitely leading up to some sort of man on machine action just like...er, Mann and Machine. But it's fun in a cheesy way and I won't not watch it. I just wish they would drop the 'Sarah Connor Chronicles' thing since given last night's 'journey to 2007' has pretty much changed everything.

It's cheesy in a good cheesy way, and Summer Glau was hired because she can run around naked and hurt people. She should stop trying to pretend she's a robot, however, because then the show just turns stupid. Really. Just act normal, hun, and everything will work out.

One of the few things I disliked about the pilot episode is the actress who plays Sarah Connor cannot act for shit.

However, if theres no eventual robosex with John and Le Femne Nikita, I don't want to watch any more of it.

Yeah, but she's slightly more attractive and believable than Linda Hamilton. There's that, at least.

Plus there's one flaw that I never counted on for the show: if John Connor is supposed to be the leader of this rebel alliance against the machines, then why the hell does he need to be escorted around by his mother and a future-born proxy mother? He's a grown man who keeps on bitching and whining about his situation but in the end, this is a TV show about a man who needs two mothers to stay alive. I can see how it can be empowering for the ladies, but it makes John Connor look like the biggest douches imaginable. The fact that he keep sending stuff back in time and messing with his own personal history makes one wonder why he simply can't send legions and legions of his own people back in time to make a direct assault on Cyberdyne over a few years to finally destroy the problem once and for all.

I think its solely because the first ( future ) John Connor couldn't get pussy. He's just trying to "help a brotha" out so to speak by giving him a lot of oppurtunities to nail some metal poon tang.

At this point in the whole Terminator mythos, we really need to think about what the future is really like. Personally, if I had a chance to be the lead writer for a show like this, I'd pull all the stops at the season (possibly series) finale to play a game of mindfuck. I can see it now....

For some reason, all three of the gang need to get to 2029 for some really important reason. As they do, they travel in time and then reappear in a sterile white room full of cubicles. In the corner sits an older John Connor, about 520 pounds, covered in blood and stuffing his multi-chinned face with greasy and cheesy nachos. On the ground next to him is a severed head, a machine gun, and a bullhorn.

Outside? A few dozen SWAT officers.

It turns out that the 'dark future' of Skynet was destroyed at the end of Terminator 2. However, the future was changed into an everyday life where John Connor still has delusions of grandeur that have turned him into a pathetic WOW addict that has no real life. No future what you make, but sadly the end of the world was the only way he could ever fucking have a successful life. Without that, his mother just twisted him up by 'teaching' him all these subversive things for absolutely no reason. His life is just completely fucked up. And now, he's just gunned down his entire office where he subsists as a middle manager hellbent on ending his life the only way he knows how: suicide.

Of course, this means he gets to shoot his younger self so he never existed in this state. So, in the last few minutes of this episode, he guns down himself, his mother, and the hot terminator and everything goes to pitch white.

Roll credits.

See? Now THAT'S disturbing!

$6 says the feminator is a pleasure model. FOX wouldn't pass up the chance for robo on man relations for the sake of ratings.

There is only one thing that can make this the best thing ever: John Connor is replaced by Clarence Boddicker as humanity's savior. Let's face it, he's the only one who can face down Skynet.
