Well Mr. Ed Boon has said there will be a finishing move system, but not necessarily a fatality.

The thing is, in order for a versus game to be good you have to have a solid fighting game mechnic in the first place. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a good example of this. MK vs. DC will be the Hindenburg of games.

I think it will have camp value though, so I guess it won't be all bad.

Fatalities are what made Mortal Kombat into what it is today (at least until armageddon). taking the fatalities out of mortal kombat because it has DC characters is like making a guitar hero game with a full songlist featuring *gulp* Hannah Montana.

The only thing about this which is interesting (as far as I'm aware) is that it is using Unreal Engine 3, which should give it a nice aesthetic at least. Maybe even some decent physics (doubtful).

Correct. The MK characters, and DC villains will kill people with fatalities that include gore, while DC Heroes will only savagely beat their enemies to death.
