Woah! That must be the most messed up thing I've ever seen.

Yeah, they can. It's in your intellect where there is a failing.

You may be right; my wife routinely points this out. :lol

Of course, I would describe exactly my feelings concerning this individual (using the term loosely) but I'm choosing not to waste everyone else's time.

Why don't you give it a shot? :x

That isn't the first time I've heard of things like this happening, but it never fails to disgust me what some people are capable of doing. It makes me want to go vigilante and start hunting down and shooting these people. Every last one of them.

What I really wonder though: What the hell is gonna happen to the children? The little ones might still have a chance of having a normal life, but the 19-year-old must be fucked up beyond hope. How the hell is she gonna adjust to life outside the cellar?

And the wife needs to have her head examined as well: Either she was stupid enough to not realize she had several people living in her cellar, or she didn't go to the police when she realized. I assume it's the latter, but they probably have no way of proving it if she did, so it looks like she's gonna go free. Bitch.

The basement was soundproofed. And a disgruntled daughter leaving & not keeping in contact vs. your husband digging a secret basement to keep her in?
I'm choosing not to waste everyone else's time.
Yet you keep posting?
Why don't you give it a shot? :x

To describe your feelings, or my own uncaring vulture need for something to fill two minutes every hour with something people want to hear?

This is shocking news!

It's hyperbole such as that which leads to people mistakingly suggesting that there are no words to describe such a situation.

Dungeon case stuns Europe's media (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7373462.stm)! More like elates.

"Austria ran out of superlatives to describe the horror..." Oh no! Someone grab a thesaurus!

"Overwhelmed, Austrians will not find words strong enough to convey the monstrous and diabolic history..." Suggesting it's like a monster and devil combined isn't strong enough? :eek

"Mr Fritzl, a dues-paying member of Amstetten's fishing club, faces up to 15 years in prison if he is convicted of raping and beating his daughter, and sequestration".

If he only gets 15 years, I'm giving up.

I think this is one of the cases where the only right thing would be an eye for an eye: stick him into a jail filled with rapists for 24 years, and see how HE LIKES IT!

"Overwhelmed, Austrians will not find words strong enough to convey the monstrous and diabolic history..."

I thought you were joking about this until I read the first paragraph of the article. Words cannot express how dumb I think that is :lol :x

I don't think he'll live long enough for the untold retribution he deserves. Hope they give him some really good doctors and surgeons to get him back in tip-top shape at least once a month.
