I watched this Sunday Night. If it was Direct-to-DVD, I figured it would be either A.) An underrated gem that tested poorly among idiotic audiences or B.) Absolute Shit. I liked the fake Britney Spears, The Michael Bolton "What About the Children?" sketch, and the Steven Segal "Cockpuncher" sketch was funny the first couple of times. Overall, however, I came away a little disappointed. You just can't have an Onion movie without Smoove B (http://www.theonion.com/content/columnists/view/smoove), Jackie Harvey (http://www.theonion.com/content/columnists/view/harvey), and Herbert Kornfeld (http://www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/white_on_white_violence).
After reading The Onion Movie's Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Onion_Movie), I discovered that the people behind The Onion had more or less disowned it, not surprisingly.
Fans of Rodney Dangerfield might enjoy seeing this, if only because this was his final movie appearance. Otherwise, proceed with caution!
