Buying NES Games

For the longest time, I've had an NES with two games. These games are great, but there are only two. I've wanted more, but I've only had two.

A few days ago, I got at least 100 games for only 50 bucks and I've started to rebuild a collection. I can't find any places besides this chain and I'm not even sure that the other stores'll have what I want.

All the online stores are outrageously expensive and I don't feel like pushing out ten bucks per game. I'm only looking for a few games and don't want to resort to eBay for this junk.

Is there a good place online that I'm not finding? Are there any other chains that sell stuff like this?

I'd recommend emulation, but nothing compares with the feel of an NES Controller in your palms. So, how about a USB NES Controller?

This is just a suggestion, not an endorsement of emulation or any form of piracy. I gather that since you want a collection you probably want the physical cartridges anyway. If I come across any of mine I'm willing to part with, I will let you know.

It's just not the same as hooking up a NES to a TV, blowing into the cartridge, and starting the game up.

Have you checked Flea Markets and thrift stores, Schmid? Places like Goodwill and Salvation Army usually have old games just sitting around, and flea markets always have that crap.

Flea markets usually have NES booths. The one near me sells games for two dollars.

there's also play 'n trade. they have very good prices, plus in some cases, some rare games (i once saw Bible Adventures for 5 bucks)

Funny thing, that place is where I got all the stuff I have now. I'm visiting the one in MD soon though, maybe they'll have more.

All 16bit and before games are like 5 dollars, and if there's a used copy of something they have new behind the counter, they'll give you the option of getting that one instead at a lower price. Plus they have these 10% off all used games giftcards which save you even more money!

They also replace the game in their demo kiosks with yours and let you play it for like 30 minutes before you buy it so you can make sure it's not a raging pile of gay or faulty.

Pawn shops occasionally carry NES games. They're really hit-and-miss as far as quality and selection goes, but occasionally you find gems. I found a cart of Camerica's Micro Machines for a dollar a few weeks ago.

yeeeaaah! nothing like feeling the controller in your hands! i had a NES with at least 8 games. i'd spent my entire childhood in front of te TV with my NES. here in Argentina the games were cheap because they were fake (nor original), so you could buy a lot of games just for a few coins he he ^^
