If the drinking age were 18, college students would be even dumber than they are now. I'm here right now, and most of the people who aren't 21 yet really don't need to be able to buy booze. Better to wait until they're getting over the whole hardcore party scene (at about 21 years old) to let them do it legally.

When I worked as a bartender briefly, I found that when most people asked for "a Lite", they were referring to Miller Lite. It's kind of a colloquial thing amongst the bar crowd, although I don't really understand how Miller Lite came to be THE light that deserves the honor. Frankly, I think that all Miller products suck goat balls. I'm a LaBatt's fella myself.
