A special 10-year anniversary edition of Clerks comes out on DVD this september. It will be a 3-disk set, and will include the sundance cut of the film, which has been circulating for years in bootlegs. It will not, sadly, include the awful sitcom pilot that was made (and never aired) based on the movie staring Jim Breuer as Dante (they wanted to put it on, but there was too much legal crap to cut through). Also, I assume they are going to record new commentary tracks (the one on the current DVD was recorded durring the making of Marllrats, and was originally on the laserdisc of Clerks, and is thus outdated).

It may be the last peice of Kevin Smith merchindise I ever buy. If it looks good, that is.

Fuck, I almost forgot about that. It should also have more deleted scenes (some of which were shown on IFC along with a commentary version of the film), and all the MTV vingettes with Jay & Silent Bob. Possibly the entire Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash MTV Special.

Editing takes longer than a new reply.

While we're on the subject, Jixby or anyone else, do you know if the comics are available online, either detailed information or complete recreated comics? I think there were two series, one of which was Mallrats 2.

In the original ending, was Dante supposed to die, was he just hospitalized, or it was never brought up what happened after he got shot. I'm just wondering. :(

you should write a letter to kevin smith, asking that very question.

He was supposed to die. They took it off because it was too dark. I agree with the decision to delete it, but as a "deleted scene" it is great.

I have all the comics up to a point. If they made any comics recently then I don't have them.

I saw the movie after I saw the Clerks cartoon (there were 6 episodes, two aired). The movie is goood...

I also have the Clerks comics (all collected up in one book, though) which are also spiffy.
