Isn't it written into the contracts that Stan Lee gets a cameo in any movie based on his marvel-ness?

He had a cameo in mallrats just TALKING about spiderman. He had one in the first movie too.

I heard that it really sucked bad, and that 3/4s of the movie was Peter Parker and Mary sitting places and staring at each other.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

This movie set up for the sequals perfectly. There will be 4 more movies at least, according to the contract, and I already have a feeling I know where the next ones are going. The next one will have Harry as the Green Goblin, obvioulsy, but the 4,5,and 6th movies villains are already set up by this movie. They are planning to film those as a continuous storyline, so it will be the same villains each time with minor additions. They will be Venom and Carnage. Their introduction was set up by the arrival of JJJ's son, John. The astronaut. Can't wait to see the CG on those symbiote mutherfuckers. They are going to look so amazing.

So was Bruce Campbell ;)

We saw it last night, and loved it. Much better than the first one, and a whooooole lot funnier. God I love Sam Raimi, I loved the nod to Evil Dead 2 in it!!! I don't want to ruin it for anyone waiting to see it, so I won't go into details (OMG the Alex Ross art at the beginning!!!!) but I can't wait to have this on DVD.

However, my fiancee's friends talked through the entire fucking movie, and made lame ass jokes, and then complained that they didn't think it was as good as the first one >:

Anyone who knows me, or has spoken with me before on the phone, knows how talkative I am. I admit it! But why am I the ONLY person in the world who can be quiet for 2 fucking hours?! I'm never going to another movie in the theatre again, (unless it's REALLY empty and I have pepper spray to squirt at talkers) because people are just too fucking rude and it just ruins the whole experience for me.

this post contains spoilers, but if your

-foruming while on holiday yall

just saw it, thought it was great, i hate to echo everyone else but the bruce bit was brilliant!

when harry unmasks peter i thought he would talk his way out of it, a bit like when the villians unmask him in the cartoon :)

i was tring to guess who would be the villian in the next one, jjs son in space, venom? doc conners, lizard? but then....

i was a wee bit dissapointed when the green goblin would be in the next one, as he has had big screen time already, i want black spidy swinging about man!

ah when cgi becomes better we may see it....

You should've thrown cokes at them assholes >: ! Or had them kicked out.

I thought he was gonna be the villian in this one, when I 1st saw Spider-Man. IMHO, he should be the villian in the next one. Makes perfect sense. Venom ( :) best villian in the 90's cartoon series, Carnage is close though) will be either 5 or 6th...hoping he's in 4. Or they introduce Eddie atleast.

ah when cgi becomes better we may see it....

The CGI was great man, wtf are you talking about?

to have a character, who for most of the film is going to be a living suit with shiny rippily bits all over him, which doesnt look fake, is going to take some serious cgi power. the cgi in spidy 2 was still very very good tho, with only one or two bnits where you could tell it was used (not including the intro credits :))

thought- maybe cgi-shininess and fakeness will make him more venomish :)

It was about as good as the first one...I thought Alfred Molina was an excellent villain, and the fact that he looks like an overweight Al Pacino makes it even better.

But really, I thought, like the first one, the movie was highly overrated. It's just a nice crash course in CGI and special effects, and even though they tried to bring out the psychological aspects of both Spiderman and Dr. Octopus, I don't think it worked as well as it could have. Coupled with the fact that I thought Michael Chabon would do a lot of good things, and the fact that I've never been the biggest Tobey MacGuire or Kirsten Dunst fan...I think my opinion is a little jaded.

But if you enjoyed the first one, you'll definitely enjoy this. It's as good as it gets in terms of the summer action movie.

Well, I just got back from the movie and it was definitely not as good as the first. In all honesty, I was pretty goddamned bored for most of it. For a superhero movie, there just was not enough action in it at all. Yeah yeah, Peter Parker is doing a lot of introspective thinking trying to find out just who he is... WE GET IT! GET ON WITH THE FRIGGIN' ACTION!

Meh...

Anyway, the few good things in the movie were:

-Doc looked good (ie: not like some shitty CGI shit) and that's partly because they had puppeteers controlling his arms a lot.

-There were a few humorous moments in the flick.

-The train scene was good, but that didn't make up for the rest of the movie. (sadly the ending of the movie was very anticlimactic.)

-Always good to see Bruce Campbell

Ummm, yeah, that's about it really. :/

Good news, when Sam Raimi directs the Spiderman with Venom and Carnage in it, he was able to convince the producers to get rid of all those corny CG effects. So the movie is going to be made completely in CLAYMATION.

I liked it. It was more introspective, which i didn't really have a problem with.

Doc Oc was probably the best thing about the movie. His tentacles felt like they were a part of him, but at other times his tentacles seemed to have a mind of there own like the Sentinals from the Matrix.

The CGI did seem obvious at times but I didn't have a hard time looking over it. I thought you could sense more of the tension when Spiderman was pulling the car to a stop.

The ending was a little stretched. I was kinda averse to the whole "we're making it really obvious that we're setting up to a sequel" ending.

I like how they didn't drop the exploit Kirsten Dunst in a wet shirt scene, though.
