It very recently got an official US DVD release, and the movie is just really great. Not what I was expecting at all, but I mean that in a good way.

That would be it. And no, it doesn't have any political undertones. Very straightforward creepy film of greatness.

You're fucking lucky your Blockbuster even carries that shit. I just went today to see if anything's changed. It hasn't.

Aside from Ju-On and Ringu (maybe. Didn't see it), they have no Asian horror films.
