Best Batman movie EVER. Best superhero movie EVER. PERIOD.

Everything was perfect. Fuck continuity with the original movie, it stomps it to dust. Everything in this movie just works. It is Batman bliss.

Seriously, I have been waiting all my life to see this movie. Batman has been my favorite hero since I was 5, and this movie vindicates all my years hoping that there will be another quality Batman experience to be had.

Do yourselves a favor and watch this movie as soon as you can. You won't regret it.

Went to the midnight showing. It did not disappoint. I went into the movie thinking Scarecrow was going to play a bigger part than he did, so a little resentment there, but overall it was a fantastic movie.

Glad to hear someone liked it - all the reviews I have read so far say its rubbish. Will deffo go and see it.

All of the reviews saying it's rubbish are written by retards.

The New Yorker's reviewer failed to see the connection between Batman and martial arts.

Variety chastised it for being too serious for a movie based on a 'cartoon character'.

i'm very excited about this movie, considering that batman 1989 was my all time favorite.

That movie WAS my favorite, but now this one has replaced it. It is that good.

I have read one bad review of it, and it's biggest complaint is that it doesn't have enough "jokes" in it. Everyone else loved it. This movie makes Batman believable. Gotham is no longer a stylized monolithic fantasy world, it is New York gone insane. This movie is all about fear, and it shows it well. Hell, one scene looked exactly like a zombie movie.

So in short, don't trust the ONE source that said it sucked, because their complaint was retarded.

If you want jokes and silly antics go see spiderman... I'm glad they are making these movies more serious. I'm going to see this TONIGHT and I can't wait!

I'm seing it again tonight. It is definitely good enough for that. Hickman's coming, too, so he'll be able to tell you how good it is as well.

I thought the movie was really good. I don't know if it's the BEST superhero movie of all time...I've still got a chubby from the orignal Superman..but that's just me. Batman Begins still rocked my socks though. Quiet possibly the best superhero movie since Superman though.

My only gripe with the movie is how Christian Bale forced the gruff voice towards the end.

I have to agree, at least in part, with Hickman. Every once in a while it did seem a little forced, particularly when he said

It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

He just emphasized the oo in "do" a little strangely. Otherwise, I loved him in this role.

This is one of the best movies I've seen in such a long time (superhero movies at least). Dark = good. Also I know exactly what you mean about his voice, it almosted sounded he was having trouble keeping that way for more than like 3 words, ADR maybe?

The bad reviews I've read seem to be pissed its not Momento II.

Ya, no shit. This is an icon of Amrican culture that goes back further than the studio that made it, never mind the friggin director. It better not be Momento II.

I loved it. I can't tell express how brilliant I think it is with mere words. I wish you could all see the DNA evidence I left all over the theater.

I admit, I was worried about the Batmobile in the early pictures. I was affraid it was too tank-like. Not a problem. It was awesome.

I love the "calling card" at the end.

Liam Neeson is the fucking man.

I may not have seen it yet, but you can't beat a movie with the line "We're like Beauty and the Beast. But if anyone else calls you Beast, I'll rip their throat out," and a soundtrack composed by prince.

I feel like crap for saying this, but not even Jack Nicholson's Joker elevates that movie beyond Batman Begins.

El Blanco
Jun 18th, 2005, 01:11 AM
And its lungs, not throat.

Its not that the 1989 Batman is bad. It is indeed a great movie. This one is just quite possibly the greatest superhero movie ever.

ItalianStereotype

I've seen it twice since Thursday, if that's any indication of how much I loved it.

Nolan really did a fantastic job with this one: the dark mood of the series is back, the characters are three-dimensional and believable, the acting is top-notch from everybody (even Katie Holmes is passable) and the plot is rock-solid and engrossing. This is the first time I've ever really cared about Bruce Wayne/Batman, since he's been almost a shadow of a character in the other films, and I'm not ashamed to say that a few of the moments with his father and Alfred ("why do we fall, Master Bruce?") brought a tear to my eye.

Oh, and the Scarecrow and his fear toxin were fucking awesome and creepy as hell.

"Would you like to see my mask?" :lol

I never used to think that, and I still ove Jack Nicholson's Joker, but after seeing what Christian Bale can do with the character, Michael Keaton's performance seemed really dull and one-dimensional.

This movie rocked. It's better than the 1989 movie (although I still think that one and Batman Returns were damn good). Judging by the end of this one, it looks like they're going to forget that the first movies ever existed.

Hopefully if this series gets off the ground they won't turn it into a shitfest for kids. >:

This movie completely, utterly blew my fucking mind.

My favorite part had to be when the kid was freaking out after the mind gas went out, and the girl said "Don't worry, no one will hurt you" and then the scarecrow rides up on his fucking nightmare and howls "OF COURSE THEY WILL!!!"

Sethomas

I loved the movie. Just the physicist in me made me think that a microwave gun to vaporize the water supply would induce more boiling blood and exploding eyeballs for people to really care about their hallucinations.

Immortal Goat
Jun 20th, 2005, 03:49 AM
Me not being a physicist, I probably sound like a retard when I ask this, but would it not be possible that, since blood is a thicker substance than water, that the microwaves were not strong enough to vaborize blood, but just strong enough to vaporize water?

Sethomas
Jun 20th, 2005, 04:02 AM
Well, microwaves act by being in phase with the vibrations of molecules. Blood plasma is a mixture of water, salt and blood cells, the water molecules not being bonded to anything and so have the same vibration frequency as distilled water. Same with the vitreus humor of the eyes.

Microwave ovens work because organic matter contains large amounts of water in them. A perfectly dry substance wouldn't heat up in a microwave.

You're making me think too much. The movie was still damn good.

Spectre X
Jun 20th, 2005, 10:02 AM
I thought microwaves had to bounce around a lot more in order to be effective, instead of just passing through a human once and never returning.

I heard Crispin Glover is another possible choice for the joker role. I probably can see him as the joker if he gets hooked up with lots and lots of laughing gas.

I used to think Jim Carrey would also make a good joker but they've already wasted him away as the Riddler in Batman and Robin, ugh!

yeah, hamill would be the best joker by far! i havn't seen this movie yet, but i want to really bad now. hamill's voice is who i think of when i think joker. when i even see or read joker i'm hearing hamill's voice in my head. he fucking IS the joker, mother fuckers :p

he's kind of old though. but i guess he wouldnt be seen without the makeup. come on, come on, come on hamill joker!

does the scarecrow play a big part in the movie? he's my fav villain, up there with bane and clayface :o bane sucked in one of the shitty batman movies i dont know which but he SUCKED. the one with mr freeze and poison ivy. what the hell

Scarecrow is actually pretty light in the movie, although his parts are pretty damn sweet... he's actually more of the secondary villian.

Supafly345
Jul 1st, 2005, 01:00 PM
Scarecrow was more of weiner than a supervillian. Sure, his character is supposed to be a wiener, but I wouldn't call him pretty damn sweet. More of a nice touch.
