I play this game with my cousins all the time and it pisses me off. Whatever character I decide to pick up they decide is "cool" and pick him up too, so we always have the same rotation of Mario, Dr. Mario, Ness and Luigi. I don't even use Luigi, I just said I did in the last one because he used to be one of the best characters in the game (with that fucking killer uppercut). In Melee they made it completely vertical, so it's useless as a third jump. You can do the rocket move but that leaves you wide open, so basically whenever Luigi is knocked off the ledge he's dead.

And yeah, Ness got nerfed pretty heavily, especially when it comes to the delay of his moves in Melee. I used to be able to stomp the hell out of anyone and it's hard to get used to that half-second delay of the move now. Plus his zap-jump doesn't go as far in this one.

Yeah, they down graded Kirby's stone move to hell too. I use to cheap the fuck out of my friends with that thing, I barely even touched the ground when I played as him. I'd just stone down, float back up and then stone down again for the entire match, my friends would get pissed off and ban me from using it. Now it fucks me over more times then it helps, also they gave him that running attack were he turns into a flaming ball, I always seem to get my ass kicked when I play as kirby now.

I mostly play as Fox but recently I've turned into a Ganondorf nut, his the only big bruiser character I like between Bowser and DK (my brother loves playing as Dk and Ganondorf almost feels like he was made to beat up DK's). I still can't beleive how well slowing down and overpowering Captain Falcons move set works out.

I'm surprised Wario hasn't already been implemented. I think they're trying to limit the Mario dominance, since he's already got six characters in it. The Zelda franchise is probably helluvalot more popular and it only has four.

I wanna see more Earthbound (imagine Jeff) and Kirby. Kirby had two levels in the new game and no new characters. Give me DeDeDe, faggots. Also, even though I personally don't like the Metroid series, I'd still like to see a second character.

Pit has been in whispers for a long time, but I doubt he'll make it. Same with MetaKnight.

EDIT: Oh man, Nintendo needs to make some sort of contest for coming up with characters for this game. I was looking around after Darkvare mentioned the next Smash bros and people are getting really creative with ideas for this game, here's the wackiest I've seen so far.

That little guy from Pikmin. His power could be picking pikmin from the ground (random colored ones) and depending on the color, the pikmin do different things, like attack, heal, or explode.

New weapons could be:
Summon Goron (rolling attack), Zorra (zap opponents), or Deku Scrub (think Staryu, only not Pokemon).

Tetris blocks (make a temporary barrier between you and your opponents)

DS styluses (thrown like darts). Ok, no, not really, but hey, I think it'd be funny.

I've always wanted Ridley to be a playable character but I just have no idea how they could possible get that to work. It might also be cool if they had someone from Majoras mask, maybe skull kid even though you never actually figt him or maybe majoras last form, Majoras Wraith. Also, now that I think about it I kind of do want Ash ketchum in the game, I can just imagine doing awesome roundhouse kicks to characters twice my size like Bowser or Ganondorf and sending them flying off the screen. Personally, any characters they add will be welcome what I really hope they do is tweak the conntrols on some of the characters they already have. Mewtwo should not be the worst character in this game, Pichu's better than Mewtwo and thats not right.

He's got really strong attacks, and if you know how to counter with the shield, dodge, and use his moves effectively then you can win. That can be said about a lot of characters though.

Definitely get rid of Pichu, but jigglypuff? No way, she's a melee master. I still have no idea why they put Pichu in the game, one of my friends says its because his really popular in Japan which is the reason jigglypuff is in. While my other friend has this theory that most of the clones were put in the game so their would be symmetry on the character select screen, you know how their's a clone and then theres the character his copied off of on each side of the screen. Like with Ganondorf, nintendo gave him a sword, designed him running around with a sword (with Action Replay, the game shark for Gamecube, you can actually unlock a sword wielding Ganondorf that has no moves) but then they just said fuck it and scrapped it for Captain Falcons moveset, my friend thinks they did that for the sake of symmetry on the select screen, I think his full of shit but to each his own.


He's got really strong attacks, and if you know how to counter with the shield, dodge, and use his moves effectively then you can win. That can be said about a lot of characters though.
The whole dodging and shielding thing can apply to every character in the game but you see, the problem is you can't actually use Mewtwo's mpves effectively. It's like he moves to slow or something so you can't get a a hit off with him sort of like Bowser and then they give him a move similar to samus's charge up attack but then decide to make it inferior in literally every way possible, it's slower, it's weaker, and it disappears before it can even reach the end of the stage your playing on. To make matters worse his one of the lightest characters in the game and also one of the biggest targets. I think the pokedex says Mewtwo is seven feet tall which means he towers slightly over Ganondorf in height. If you check any Tier list in the world you'll find Mewtwo almost always at the bottom with Pichu :(

Hell, does nobody use smash attacks? Mewtwo has some of the strongest smash attacks in the game, and the way he wields the weapons (bat, fan, other rod objects) let's him use them fast and retain the same amount of power. That and his evasion technique allows him to use a move right after a "roll". If you combine this with the charged shot then you can get up to an enemy, evade to their back, and let loose and do some major damage. That and his throws are wicked.
I also like his paralyze move.

Mewtwo isn't that bad if you just never throw with him. His throws are laughable.

His big thing is evasion and just general shock-and-awe. His dodge is the fastest in the game and if you combine that with his Hypnosis, it can be extremely frustrating for the other guy. I actually forgot most of his moveset but, seriously, he's not so bad.

I'm telling you guys, compared to everyone else in the game Mewtwo really is the worse, maybe beating Pichu out but not by much. The hypnosis strategy you just mentioned Schimid doesn't work very well because Mewtwos opponent has to be looking directly at him for hypnosis to work plus he does this little twirl thing with his head before he execute it giving someone plenty of time to let of a quick jab and then go into an insane juggling combo which is where him being one of the lghtest characters in the game starts to shine, I'm not kidding I think he might be lighter than Kirby.

in the second i like to use gannondorf , bowser , and occasionally even mr.game-n-watch
they definitely screwed characters out of power in the second game (like captain falcoln , i swear he is on crack in the new game too twitchy n quick and not as powerful)
