They started showing it again on the movie channels recently. I never saw it when it first came out, but holy fuck this movie is pretty badass.

Why didn't it get more praise?

I mean basically this movie just took the basic idea from the matrix and added in some nifty special effects. :rolleyes

This was the first DVD I ever purchased. So good.

Did you fail to realize that Dark City came out over a year before The Matrix came about?

Besides, the material in both films isn't even handled the same.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the movie, though for a while after I saw it, I would constantly tell people "sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep"

the idea of the movie is awesome, but the fact that they tell you about the aliens and about everything going on at the beginning of the movie. it was supposed to be reveled at the end but someone thought the audience wouldnt get it so they ruin the movie.

it would have been a greatif we wouldnt have known what was going on and we slowly found out what was going on, you know like a normal suspense mystery movie, but as it stands, its a good looking, somewhat interesting story. I think it would have went down in film history had it not gotten fucked up and dumbed down. It still a pretty cool movie.

I just watched it and thought it was painfully mediocre. Its has some good ideas and other nice touches but I wouldn't consider watching it ever again.
