View Full Version : Frustrating gaming moments

Making those danmed jumps on the wire (in Midgar before infaltrating Shinra's building)
Saving over my 99++ hours of Final Fantasy VII TWICE (each time I started from scratch practically, and the second time I did even better, so it pissed me off more). I fucking cried.
Game situations where I am absolutely stuck in an area with no clue how to advance and where to find the missing chess piece plug, and basically waste time wondering everwhere in a fruitless attempt to get farther.

You kinda suck at video games don't you?

Actually I've long since found that Rook piece. I just hate moments like not knowing how to advance.

I don't get it, what's so hard in the wire part of FF VII? D:
For me it's definately playing Zero Wing through, just to see that the ending credits consist of a bunch on bean dudes, who dance cancan and yell "Thank you for playing"
Also playing Super Mario bros. so long that the NES overheats and tilts in the last castle level >:

Well...it's more of a console tech problem...but....
Busting out your old NES, getting colored screens 99/100 times instead of the real game, and having to blow into a cartridge until you black out just to play the first round of punch-out >:

That's the point sniper, you are playing FFVII and getting stuck. A dishwasher is more confusing.

No. It's the timing on that danmed wire part. I hate missing the jump and having to climb back up to it. I never said that part confused me. It's just that it drove me fucking nuts.

I remember the first time I ever got in trouble for profanity was thanks to Mega Man 2. I am pretty sure you can guess which level I am talking about. (hint it helps if you beat Flash Man first)
The last game to really irritate me is Mario Kart DS. Nothing can cause rage more then having a near perfect run in 150cc only to have it wrecked because of the Muther Truckin' Blue Koopa Shell.

When I get pretty far in an RPG and I forget to save for a while I come across some easy enemies that are kicking my ass because they keep putting me to sleep :aargh

YES that part almost made me stop playing that game! Then I beat it and got stuck on the level when you have to chase that guy in the shipyard.
The 3 trials from DMC3 on hard mode.

IT WAS ONE FUCKING PART. IT WAS ANNOYING TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH PART OF THE WIRE TO LAND ON AND AT WHAT POINT, BUT I DID IT >: It still was an annoying part, and it even took my friend (when he played it at his house) a few tries, and he is a better gamer.
Beating World Tour Mode, and maxing out my character in Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Walking up staircases in Castlevania and Castlevania III, and basically trying to figure out what the hell to do in Simon's Quest without a stratedgy guide, which I ended up having to do.

Parts of Ninja Giaden (not Black)
Trying to learn the attack moves of bosses without using a strat guide.
Killing 99 of those Fiend Dino things in the arena only to find that you had accidently moved a upper platform out of the way earlier (which can't be reset) so now you can't land that jump, no matter that you tried 50 different ways.
Tie-Fighter on Hard difficulty. God damn enemy capital ships with near perfect weapons accuracy.
Watching yourself get killed 1 shot in Battlefield 2 after unloading a entire clip into the enemy.

Games that allow you to save while something bad is flying at you and can kill you, and can't move. Splinter Cell, go die.

If you want true frustration, try the last couple of levels on Red Dead Revolver.
The final duel was practically impossible unless you truly lucked out, andif you didn't (which happened 99 of 100 times) you had to do the whole fucking level again.

When you fight that big black buggy fucker in RE4. He killed me about 5 times before I realized he was invincible, then got me 3 more before I noticed the liquid nitrogen tanks and figured out I had to tip them over to slow him down. Also, that part was scary as fuck. :(
And then there was that part where the statue of Salazar chases you and you have to fucking BUTTON MASH to get away from it, jesus christ I wanted to hurt whoever thought that part up >: >: >:
I also had some trouble with "It," but that fight was so scary and awesome that I didn't care. :o

That part in CoC: Dark Corners of the earth, where your running from those damn insmouth folk and having to jump from the window to that final balcony. for some reason it was just so Damned Hard.

The part in FarCry where you get pushed out of a helecopter with an M4 and only 4 bullets :(
Also in FarCry where you have to get across the volcano crator (right at the end of the game) and it is rediculously hard.

Actually, if blowing lightly once doesn't solve the problem, that's not where your problem is. Inserting and pulling out the cart is what really makes a difference, and in fact the condensation from your breath damages the cart. Instead, you should clean the pins with isopropanol or something similar. Or just emulate.

Emulating doesn't give you the same great feeling you can only experience by actually playing a NES.

It's the part where you're inside some kind of steel container suspended over a big ravine, and you have to drop all of the sections of it by pressing both emergency switches in each one while that big pink thing stalks you, then when you get out you have to fight him for real in some circular cataombs.
I couldn't get the Rocket Launcher because I had to use all my money on 4 first aid sprays and the combat vest just to finish that fight with about a fifth of my health left. :x

After defending Ashley from the first house raid, and unsuccessfully trying run away from El Gigante, I did the exact same thing.

No no no, I'm talking about that giant pink thing Saddler sends after you once he nabs Ashley again. You know, on the island.
Also, that one boss in Metroid Prime 2 that you can only fight in morph ball mode was annoying as shit. In fact, I think there were two bosses like that. >:
