Has anyone seen this yet? I'm hooked. Some of the actors are a little weak, but the main ones are pretty solid. It's entertaining, and has some good dark humor. Besides, I'm a sucker for anti-heroes.

I head an ad for this on the FilmSpotting PodCast and it sounded quite interesting. What exactly is it all about?

Dexter is a forensics specialist who moonlights as a serial killer. His sister is a cop on the same force, he has a girlfriend who has two young kids, and he's being toyed with by another serial killer. Lots of interesting predicaments arise. Me likee.

I think the series is really good. I sorta gave up on the new season of CSI and I definitely like Dexter better.

it's a really good book, too. I'm curious to see if they'll end the season the same way, since (other than creative stretching to make more episodes) it seems to follow pretty closely.

Been watching this show for a while actually. I honestly think it's the best show on TV right now. Also, good news for fans of the show, it's done so well that it's just been renewed for another season.

Graaaah! The season finale is next week and it's killin me. Must. Know. What. Happens! What really sucks is that, after next week, I'll have to wait 'til late 2007 before they air any more new episodes.

I've been watching this with Royal and a few other friends for the last few weeks. It's pretty sweet.

Fucking fantastic. I haven't been this into a show since Sledge Hammer, when I was, like, 11. I'm gonna be in the same boat- it's gonna be a bummer to see this season end. This is far and away the best show on TV.

On the bright side, Rog, there are two Dexter books out at the moment, and another one coming out in Summer 2007, so there's something to tide us all over until Season 2.

Yeah but I'm not gonna read the other books because I don't want to spoil the next seasons of the show as they could be based on the books just like this season was.

And I didn't know you liked Sledge Hammer. Awesome man. Any show involving a man who showers with his gun is badass in my book.

Trust me, I know what I'm doing

Damn, why must the season be over???? A solid ending for the season, but damnit, I want more now. I don't wanna wait 'til late 2007 for a new season. >:

the best episode is when his annoying sister breaks in and presses that button to ruin everything!

(p.s. guys i'm talking about the cartoon Dexter's Laboratory. I don't know if this Dexter even has a sister or a lab!)

Great show. If paint-by-numbers predictable. Just got turned onto it. Now, I just hope Showtime (or HBO - whatever it is) doesn't drop the ball on this. Every show I get into is canceled before its time.

Carnivale, Dead Like Me, Love Monkey...

Sledge Hammer was awesome. Another batshit crazy show of the 80's. Great era for weird television.

This new season feels pretty weak to me. Dexter seems less like a sociopathic killer and more like a socially awkward killer. When he goes off on one of his little tangents about how he can't feel like normal people I simply don't believe him anymore. Also they're way to many melodramatic subplots. Last night there was one involving Masuka that was so lame it probably would have felt more at home on an episode of Scrubs.

I really miss Doakes. The exchanges between him and Dexter were probably my favorite parts of the entire show. I'd rather Dexter had turned himself in so they wouldn't of had to kill him off. I understand they wanted a mostly clean slate for the next season but there really not doing anything interesting with it.

Not getting itno season 3 to much. I feel its alot slower and less in on the line for Dexter. I loved season 2 but I feel that would of been a good plot for their last season and a nice conclusion not season 2.

Ya, I'm having trouble getting into this season as well. Five episodes in and shit has yet to hit the fan.

This new season feels pretty weak to me. Dexter seems less like a sociopathic killer and more like a socially awkward killer.

I think Dexter is a serial killer who needs to understand a moral reason for killing people so as not to get caught, not because he has a conscience.

The first two seasons clearly clock this up in terms of hammering home this point. By season 3 he is mortified not by killing someone who may be 'innocent' but because hes broken the code

He confesses that without Harry's code he wouldn't have a band of strict ethics to stop him frying in the chair. He still actually kills. We assume that the compulsion often overrides his enforced moral ethics, otherwise he'd.....simply give up wouldn't he? We know he misses crucial emotions that society would definately consider 'normal'

He understands that Astor is upset about Dexter's proposal to Rita, but doesn't quite know how to interpret the wants and needs of his brood. His solution to fit into his self imposed family unit is to borrow a slew of techniques learnt from another psychopathic killer. He fakes it. Just like he fakes a lot of his emotions.

I understand where you are coming from, though in terms of 'socially awkward' but I put this down to sloppy script and tense. I'm bored of being taken to the edge of the 'will he or won't he get caught?' storyline, because it leaves you exhausted to the point where you start thinking 'he can't get caught because the series is a hit' - I'm striving to see Dexter evolve, which Season 3 seems to portray. Miguel is an interesting character. See how it goes.

Three episodes left in the season, Dexter/Miguel relationship is finally turning into something interesting but otherwise the show is dull as hell. It's like the characters have all devolved into 2-dimensional archetypes, I guess I could chalk it up to bad writing but I wonder about that. I understand one of the network channels is picking up the show, I wonder if there purposely softening it so it'll transfer more smoothly to basic Television.

I still think this season is at least as good the the rest. The whole Dexter-Miguel thing is one of the best sub-plots yet.

Dexter and Deborah got married IRL (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090109/ap_on_en_tv/people_hall)

Can't say I blame him.

The only new season worth watching would be the one with John Lithgow. Just because of John Lithgow.
