So my neighbor shot a deer SEVEN days ago. It's been hanging in his garage until today. Today is the day he decides to cut it up and eat it.

It's been very warm out for the past seven days. Like right now, it's 51 degrees outside and it's almost midnight. Is it safe to eat that deer after letting it hang so many days in the warm weather?? I would think you could get terribly sick from eating it now?

i think if he cooks it he should be fine but if he's just cuttin off slices and going at it he might get worms or the raw deer shits

I guess most people aren't aware that beef is still commonly left to "cure" for days by exposure to room temperature, especially at steak houses and such. This is why Prometheus stole fire from the gods; he was tired of stomach parasites.

Actually, Zelda, it's a common myth that sushi is from Japan. It actually originated in Brazil during the deadly cattle plague, when crazed, meat-hungry Brazilians took to the sea in hordes to escape the maddening stench of festering beef.

How the hell can you not be "sure if sushis from Japan"?

You have to let the deer bleed out for a while. But I never left one hanging for more than two days. But the meat should be ok.

Really? Even if it was hanging in the warm weather? How come it wouldn't start to go bad?

"Going bad" is a part of what makes it taste good. It's one of those things that is true despite our hopes that we're more evolved than people of seventy years ago, but we really aren't.

How the hell can you not be "sure if sushis from Japan"? Because I heard the Brazillan thing before, my friend.

Hello Grislygus,
Can you believe the pile of stupid that I have arrived upon in this thread?

I'm not sure. In most cases, it's your own fault if your jokes fall flat, but really...
