hi

I've joined this forum more or less specifically to find someone to help me out with this. The running man is a great film, it's a great idea it has cool sets and a good story, but arnold schwarzenegger prevents it from being taken seriously. Also that chick who grasses him up then gets thrown down the tunnel and then gets off with him on live tv but has EXACTLY the same voice as his, how did that happen? And also why do the bookies give good odds on ben richards when he's just killed two stalkers? I'd have offered evens.

Sorry, got sidetracked. The point is, who would have made a better ben richards? It had to be someone working in 1986 and they had to be available for filming. I was a bit torn as to whether to include total recall in this, but I think schwarzenegger does ok in that.

It's a shitty movie. I've never seen it, but it's shitty.

In the book, Ben Richards is a tall, lanky introvert. Adrian Brody could'a done it.

Schimid, you know not of what you speak! The Running Man is a fucking classic cheesy 80s movie. I love it. It's by no means a good film, but I love it and I wouldn't call it shitty by any stretch.

Really. Calling the running man shitty is just plain STUPID :O. It is a really entertaining movie that ranks up there with Commando. With lines like "HERE IS YOUR HERO, FORMERLY SUB-ZERO, NOW PLAIN ZERO!", how can you lose?

I think I'm just jaded, because I finally read the book about a month ago and loved it and checked if there was a movie version, and it had turned into a big summer blockbuster :(

man i taught marine those spells i still remember to this day him scouring over the books, twinky in one hand magic wand that was ripped from a dying apple tree in the other, painfully memorizing the secret eternal darkness spells that can be found on the internet.

Who would have been better than Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Running Man?

Obviously you could never replace Ah'nuld, but I'll play your game Vanna.

I would have to nominate Dolph Lundgren.
