i know there's probably already a thread on this, but i'm lazy.

dude, this show fucking ROCKS! i don't know how anyone can complain about it, but it's fun to watch. i mean i couldn't watch it consistantly, but if i was in elementary i would think this was the coolest show ever. yeah, it is kind of "radical" but it's aimed at kids. kids arn't smart enough to care about that stuff yet

best kids show out right now :(

No. There are a few good episodes but they try way too fucking hard to be "cool". Shit, just listen to the music when toad's the focus of the scene. LISTEN TO HOW HE FUCKING TALKS!

ROGUE IS A GOTH
WOLVERINE'S GOT PICCOLO'S VOICE
THEY'RE DAMN NEAR ALL KIDS IN MODERN TIMES
SPIKE

The original X-Men cartoon is where it's at. There's a new dvd out even.

You're old, little kids dig "cool" stuff. Of course you don't like it, it isn't AIMED at you! If you showed a kid one of your childhood favorite cartoons, he'd tell you it SUCKED!

Well, I wouldn't say it's really aimed just at little kids because pretty much anything based on comics characters like the X-Men is supposed to still be able to be enjoyed by teens at the very least. Shit, I've even seen a few things on it that kids wouldn't get. I don't have a very high opinion of kids these days, but still.

As for kids not liking shows I liked as a kid, I kinda doubt that but they've been fucked up quite a bit from all this anime shit over the years.

I just feel it's stupid as hell, and kind of insulting to X-Men.

"Hey, let's take the X-Men, and make them all kids! Then, we can put them in wacky situations at school, and make them be kids!"

Sure, it's aimed at Children, but so what? It's no different than Flinstones Kids, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Baby Looney Toons, and Tom & Jerry Kids. Just taking something original, and making the characters younger. And it hasn't worked, ever.

Besides, nothing screams "X-Men" like seeing Nightcrawler wolf down food a la Shaggy, and then talk about that Geometry test being a major drag, right? Or whatever. I can't watch that show.

So does that mean Smallville is a great show? It's a teen drama, with something like a mutant.

>: I love Smallville! Sure it's camp, but it's fun.

X-Men Evolution is fluff, it's kind of fun to watch but the dialog is awful a lot of the time. I can't stand Spike though, I'm glad they got rid of him (at least I hope that's what they did).

I fucking hate Smallville. That day they pull off a subtle point I'll give it a chance, but I'll stay the hell away now that every single line says something like "I'll go and talk to him, because like him, I am a stranger in this world and noone could ever understand me. I am after all a super hero with secrets, and this is very similar to the teen angst he is going through. I am both a teenager and an alien, so I should be pitied twice as much as anyone else. Family is important."

I don't think Smallville is a good show, I just like it ;)

I haven't seen any X-Men Evolution yet, but Jaeger was telling me how funny it is to listen to Nightcrawler's accent change from German to Russian to Irish to Mexican all in the same sentence.

I like the older X-Men cartoons. They make the new ones look pussified.

I have now seen X-Men Evolution, and it is a steaming pile of shit.

It's not even so much the continuity that pisses me off (ie. all them being kids, already knowing certain mutants, etc). What kills me is the personas given to them.

First off, they're all in modern day, so they have to all be in ther different forms of pop culture. Scott and Jean are the preppies, Kitty's a raver type, Kurt's sort of skaterish (ahd I think eats all the time), Rogue's taken a cue from Gothypoo, and Spike is the black guy they needed to prevent any legal problems. And I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of the regular mutants-turned-teens.

But here's what REALLY pisses me off. They're mutants, living at Charles Xavier's School for the Gifted, right? Right...

They live IN a school, and go TO a different school. COME ON! >:

As bad as it is, it didn't piss me off as much as Extreme Ghostbusters.

Oh Christ, EG fucking pissed me off. Again, they have to have the token goth girl, not to mention the token hispanic, and whatever that other guy was.

And why the hell was Egon sporting a Steven Segal hairstyle?

they should have renamed this "X-Men Devolution"

I have to fess up though some few things seem rather kool, but they don't make up for the overall lack of quality this bestows upon us (¬_¬)/¯

Hey, they eventually cancelled this, right?

To my knowledge, yes. Though I could be wrong and somewhere inside the bowels of TV it could be still alive, leaving only in reruns. But I hope it isn't, and that if it is it is countered by having 2 episodes of the original X-Men cartoon shown. Then they will have been redeemed.
