View Full Version : Looking for a sound...

I'm in need of a good record scratch sound. Not like a DJ scratching a record or anything, but like the sound a record would make if you bumped into the table. You know, the scratch sound effect that you'll hear in a cartoon or something when all of the music and sounds stop.
If any of you can find a link to a good one or if you have one already, please let me know. Thanks.

None of these little kids even know what that sound means. When they hear it in cartoon, they're like "I don't get why that sound symbolizes stopping." It's like when they see a cartoon character eating an ear of corn, and there's all this clicking noise, and then right as they get to one end of the cob there's a bell, and they rotate the cob and start eating an clicking again. They just go "Huh. I don't get the whole corn eating deal" and go play on their X-box or illegally swap MP3's.

There was a couple at this site. http://www.soundrangers.com/storepages/natural/scratchesrecord.html
They were a little longer than most encounters I have with DJ Death but you may be able to work with it anyway. No. 3 was alright.
If this is one of those burbank-esque "Way to ruin this thread" gags then you should all go to hell. I'll see you there.

I tell you all. I've said this before, & I'll say it again. When ever I read someones response I can't help but imagine that it's their avatar responding. It's really funny when it's Chojin, or Max (both of which i'm in love with right now).
