Hey something just occured to me. Are there even going to be secret/unlockable characters this time? If theres gonna be multiplayer online I don't really see how its feasible other than limiting your opponents to people who've unlocked the exact same set as you, which is just silly. Also this would make sense sicne the current revealed character roster is pretty dang large and theres no mention of unlocking anyone.

Ok, this takes a little bit of explaining:

There is this subculture full of idiots who believe Smash Brothers is meant to be played on even arenas without items or "cheap" characters, and they all practice playing Melee hours and hours a day so they can compete in tournaments with other people like them to win money and circle jerk. In these tournaments, they play only on Final Destination so there will be no random elements present (which is half the fun) and usually only play Fox or Marth, because the other characters are unfair to use. They also rely heavily on wavedashing and L-Canceling. /v/ refers to them as Tourneyfags. Smashboards is full of these bastards, and while normally I and most other people wouldn't give a crap, they seem to love boasting their superiority around the internet to anyone they can and are horribly annoying.

The "REAL MEN USE ITEMS" message in the update was basically Sakurai telling them to eat his dick, which is why I like it.

Not to mention that the updates have shown Brawl to be less and less tourneyfag friendly as the days roll by, so this is like the killing blow after a long and satisfying buildup of PAIN AND MISERY.

There's a ton of skill involved in using items, too, and it rounds out the characters who have certain shortcomings. It's the reactive aspect of the game and when you take that away, that's when the 'tiers' really start to be obvious (and games descend into marth vs fox vs sheik very quickly).

It really makes the game not fun when you turn items off. It's smash bros, not street fighter, so play the god damn game the way it's meant to be played.

Brawl will be in full color with various different hues featured including blue, red, yellow and maybe even maroon! maybe.

Honestly, they're usually plenty of cool updates featured, just look at what's on the front page right now (coin launcher looks pretty cool). What really gets me is when ever they use one of this stalling techniques it makes me worry that this might actually be the full character roster for the game and that makes me sad.

I used to be great with Mewtwo. His moves are an absolute nightmare to wield, but they dealt great damage, and his screwy style fucked with people's heads.

Then I didn't play Smash for a long time.

Now I have new friends who play it all the time, but I can't recapture the ridiculous timing necessary to dominate with Mewtwo. And now nobody believes me. And I don't think I'll ever get that handle on that summabitch again.

Or maybe the people I was beating with Mewtwo just sucked, and I've been wrong all along. It's a drag either way.

Playing with mewtwo only requires that you use the grab button a lot and keep your energy ball charged at all times

Mewtwo is god. If someone is at or above 60ish percent, you can toss them straight up out of the top of the ring in just about any stage.

Mewtwo has the most annoying jump, but the teleporting is really helpful. I always play as Dr Mario, Falco, Samus or Jigglypuff (his B move is the best thing ever)
