I fell in love with Midori Sour cocktails tonight. It's like if you liquefied a bag of Sour Patch Kids and made it alcoholic.

What I like to do with my alcohol is, I get this fat guy frank really drunk, then make him run on the treadmill. I collect his sweat, then soak a tampon in it and shove it up my butt. It's the ultimate drunk.

Weirdly enough, my cousin told a delightful story at Thanksgiving about finding whiskey-soaked tampons in the garbage at her bounce-house job.

I made myself a Jack Rose about 10 minutes ago. It's the best damn cocktail in the galaxy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Rose_(cocktail)

Not sure how I'd describe the flavor (sort of a balanced mix of sweet and tart since there's lime and grenadine in it, and a little tangy), but rest assured it's better than any alcoholic drink you've ever had, and I got basically smashed off just one. If you've got about 30 bucks, go buy the ingredients from your local liquor store, it's more than worth it. It'd be my go-to drink order if it weren't for the fact that that no bars anywhere serve these things and likely never will again; none of them stock Applejack or even know what it is. I almost want to buy extra bottles of the stuff and give them to the places I frequent just so they'll be able to make me some whenever I'm there.

Actually applejack is a distilled liquor like vodka or whiskey so it doesn't have that pronounced of an apple flavor; tasted to me like a kind of mix between whiskey and rum, kinda spicy. It's smooth as fuck when you drink it straight and I think it's the best hard liquor I've ever had. The taste is like what I imagined whiskey would taste like before I drank whiskey and found out that it tastes like plastic shit.

The best part is that it's only 20 dollars for a fifth because nobody buys it.

you think whiskey tastes like plastic shit, but you like stuff with grenadine in it? cognitive dissonance, yo.

I'm really happy to see that pumpkin spice & Oktoberfest beers have already started to show up in stores. I'm done with summer...done with heat and humidity and sweating. Yesterday I grabbed a bottle of Shipyard pumpkin ale and visualized fall...which means I-Mockery's Halloween coverage is just around the corner. Oh happy days!

I'm assuming the soju is what you're talking about. It's not even that strong - only 24% or so. This one had an aftertaste like grapefruit or something. It was pretty delicious.

It's funny how booze and DNA works. I know a lot of people who drink one shot of Sake and are floored. I can waste money on three litters and on get a slight buzz. Give me a glass f Soju and I'm buying strippers.

Octoberfest from great lakes and magic hat both suck.

Octoberfest from Saranac and Sam Adams are so good. Like perfection good.

Otter Creek makes a damn good octoberfest and some other fall brew.

I tried Sam Adams Octoberfest the other day and didn't really see much of a difference from Sam Adams normal, except maybe it was a little tangier. It was okay though. I like Sam Adams.

I discovered a recipe for rum cake that's fucking amazing and now I will be making it all the time. I took the extra precautions of soaking the raisins in Bacardi Gold overnight and just going ahead and making the frosting with Bacardi Gold instead of milk. Solid buzz.

I actually work at a Viet-Thai restaraunt so I've been getting around to buying the beers we serve there. I've only tried about 3, but Tsingtao (Chinese) isn't bad or expensive.

Man, if you bother to actually get decent tequila it's one of the best-tasting liquors.

Here I thought it was all bottles of rubbing alcohol that someone poured a damn pound of salt into. Or alternatively peed into.

I vacationed in Cancun a few years back and had a similar revelation. Even the better tequilas one can find here in the states pale in comparison with some of what I tasted that week. As with most drinks, top-shelf brands and brands from the native region are the best ways to go.

For anyone who just doesn't like the thought of drinking tequila straight, no matter how good, allow me to recommend La Pinta Pomegranate Tequila and 1921 Cream Tequila. Both are delicious to the point that the uninitiated could be fooled into thinking they aren't tequila. Plus, neither sacrifices that "clothes exploding" after-effect that Ghost mentioned.

Tequila es meuy beuno.

I got a bottle of Jose Silver for my birthday, which is a great one for mixing. When my parents went to Mexico they came back with one bottle that was ring shaped and had a crystal agave plant in the center. That was pretty cool on its own, and the tequila was smooth to boot. Aside from that, if I'm visiting the States I'll usually pick up a bottle of 1800.
