View Full Version : Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on XBLA?

I have not heard a release date yet, but if you do a search on the ESRB's website, the game comes up listed for PS2, Xbox, PS3 and Xbox360. Has anyone heard anything/plans to download? I have never had the chance to play the second MVC but I loved the original.

Ya I heard about this, I wish I knew when it was coming out, I heard it's going to be about 1200 pts, which isn't all that bad really

That, and it's impossible to find in stores, and totally overpriced online. The only way you might get it running is with a crappy Dreamcast emulator. Maybe MAME, but the last I checked, no one got it running on that yet.

The prices on ebay went down as soon as the countdown stopped, though.

Marvel Vs Capcom is probably my favourite fighting game ever, I never got to play 2 though.

Thursday, IIRC. I think it has something to do with Microsoft's whole system, where they can't technically release a demo till a certain date in relation to the actual release. Which is kinda lame for people without the PS3, but that's business.

Definitely can't wait to play this again. It's been years since I've played. I'm just happy everyone is already unlocked in the final build.

So, the demo sucks, local multiplayer only, they couldve at least added one single player match.
I probably won't get it, loved it at the arcades but just cause its the same game, doesn't mean its the same thing, i dont want to spend 40 -150 extra on an arcade stick, and i pretty much forgot how to play and playing online isnt the same thing as in an arcade

The game's fine with a PS3 d-pad. You don't need a joystick. The game's mostly just quarter circles anyways, with a few z motions and only a couple of charge characters. My friend and I haven't played in years and jumped right back into it last night.

I never played it. I don't care much for 2D fighters at all, so I'd appreciate a demo to work out the controls.

Plus it's near impossible to find a PS2, Xbox, or Dreamcast copy without paying shitloads of money. And it's not like they're charging money of the demo. It's free. Can't complain about free shit.

With news of this going to download services, it makes me glad I sold off my hard copy a few days ago. Something tells me the hundred bucks I made off of it would've been devalued if any schmoe can download it now. Which, of course, means I'll probably be downloading it. Selling MvC2 for $100 + DLC + ????= PROFIT!!

they did for a time EA had it but i think they did such a horrible job with that fighting game...nemesis, i think, it was so lackluster that noone even really remembers it.... that capcom was able to buy it back.

I think was pretty ok at it, i won most of the time, but it was pretty much button mashing and i forgot which button combo it was to do the special move each person had.

It's just not the same thing, even if i do get an arcade stick, it won't be a cabinet.
I'm sure the controller is fine and the game is exactly the same but i'd rather actually play the real thing and by this point, i forgot everything i knew so it'd just be frustrating to me, when my local place had mvc2, me and my friend went almost every day and that's how i got decent at it.

So i guess i'll just let memories be memories
