So what are you handing out this year, if anything?

Last year, I had a case of Frankenberry that was more than I could handle, and that's what I handed out. It was brand-new and very fresh and quite untampered-with, but the kids' parents still looked at me like I was a total fucking psycho.

*sigh* Fine.

The plan this year was to hand out large candy bars, because we get about 20-30 kids and it was manageable. I went to Sam's Club and was horrified to see that the asking price for a case of snickers was more than 20 bucks (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=135800). Instead, I got those enormous Pixy Sticks (http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=173364&pCatg=1663) in the plastic tubes, 50 of 'em for $11.

Happy Halloween, it's a giant tube of sugar. Have fun with that.

I really don't think I'll get many kids, so I'm just going to buy like ten big choc. bars. if there are more kids than that they will get cans of soup etc.

Well, I'm not exactly sure what I'll be giving out as I tend to wait as long as I can to get the candy so that I don't end up eating it myself. I can say that I will be keeping to my tradition of doing up loot bags which will be filled with some type of candy and a small toy

I'm going out trick-or-treating 'n what not with friends as usual, but if any kids come to our place before then, I always have a ton of crazy candies to give out as a result of that Halloween candies review article I do every October. That and boxes of spaghetti. :picklehat

I usually stock up on the crazy fun candy from Dollar Tree and stuff before hand and give each kid a fuckton of candy. I know not as many people in my area participate in Halloween as they used too, so I like to make up for the buttholes who forgot how to have fun.

If I had the cash, I would totally stock up and go to the trunk or treat things also and dress up to give out candy to the kids.

I like to give kids a choice: Either a candy bar, or some random food object. Last year we did potatoes, and before that, dog biscuits. You'd be surprised how many kids took the potatoes.
Maybe this year it'll be candy, or SCORPIONS.

I live on a busy street, with only one side having the luxury of a sidewalk (the other side).

I'm also right next to the cemetery.

We do not get more than 2 trick or treaters / year, and the last two years we've had 0.

From 2002 to 2007 I lived in an open apartment complex. In all the years of halloween my total visitors numbered about 4. Of course, I bought far more candy than needed.

I now live in a gated apartment complex. No one knocks on the doors. :|

I need to buy a home. Also, have a kid so I can get candy again.

Yeah! Although my better half figured out this ploy - we're back from the street a long way and most kids don't think it's worth the effort - so I'm not allowed to buy loads of candy for Halloween. :(

I'm going to a party on devil's night dressed as Sam from Trick R Treat, but I have no idea what I'm doing on Halloween. Somebody will probably have a party. Either that or I'll help my parents pass out candy and watch some horror movies on TV.

I might have to dress up early on 10/23/09, Converge, Mastadon and Dethklok are playing, then the party starts right after.

I'm going to a pre-Halloween party my campus throws and then I'll probably spend the actual holiday sitting on the porch steps in costume handing out candy. I'd love to actually trick-or-treat but it was kind of forbidden last year so yeah...

I just realized that due to some other appointments, I am going to be missing trick or treat entirely. Well, semi-entirely. I might be home during the last part of it.

Anyway, I want to do the "please take ONE" thing with the box of 50 giant pixy stix I bought, but I'm not an idiot. There's no way to enforce it, is there?
