I was thinking about picking this up today. Has anyone played it? Is it any good? Whats your take on it?

I'm about 2 hours into it. Its alot like if WOW and Mass Effect had a kid. The combat is basically just push the right joystick in the direction you want to attack. I think as I upgrade that will change, but for right now it just seems really simplistic. Also I'm finding the story really brutally lame but I know thats a personal opinion and I'm not counting it out yet.

I tried the demo and thought it seemed kinda meh. Still, I might rent it at some point.
I'm not hearing good things in the reviews I've read, though. People are saying it's just a pointless grindfest with lackluster character growth and a bland plot.

I'm trying to figure whether or not the reviewers are smart enough to comprehend Norse mythology.

Maybe, maybe not. But if you don't find Norse mythology boner inducingly interesting you may want to ignore this game.

I enjoy reading about Norse and Greek mythology. :(

Nothing wrong with that. I'm just making the assumption that being interested is greatly contributing to your enjoyment of Too Human.

They turned Thor in a cyborg who kills robots. What is not to like?

Yea, Gametrailers gave it a 6.5. They have really comprehensive video reviews, and I usually agree with them.
EDIT: Game Informer: 6.75
OXM: 6.5
GameDaily: 5/10
GameTrailers: 6.5
Eurogamer: 60
GameSpy: 2 1/2 out of 5 stars (50%)
GameSpot: 6/10
1UP: C- (42%)
Basically, the game's a button masher, replace "button" with "joystick". It's just average, which I think is wonderful, since Denis Dyack is slowly becoming the most arrogant son of a bitch in the industry, and I'd love to see him humbled after the hissy fit he threw over at NeoGAF.

I played it, and enjoyed it. The whole game reminds me of Diablo.

That's one of the main reasons I bought it.

I bought it and am playing it, and I think it's slightly better than 6.5. It's fun enough.
The camera is annoying, but nothing I can't handle. The thing that gets me the most is the sheer number of times I have to die to get anywhere. I'm not that shit, and I can finish most games without having to die every five seconds, but this seems different.
It doesn't help that it has to run through the same painstakingly slow Valkyrie thing every single time.

While I agree that the game is really challenging, you really just gotta learn how to retreat and make the smaller enemies follow you away from the more powerful ones. Once you've taken care of the cannon fodder, you can manuver your way to the Trolls or what have you and use the ruiner combos to take their health down quickly.

I found out that using finishers on Trolls completely annihilates all their armor.

I find it's easy to just jump up and attack their chest plate, then climb up and destroy them.

This game is too short. I should have hired it.

Trusting the developers I was really looking forward to this. I still haven't tried it myself.
I still may get it sometime but sounds like it's pretty standard. Disappointing.

Story-wise, it's great.
