Yeah, I wasn't a fan of of Wii Sports Boxing, I loved the Tennis and Bowling 'n what not, but Boxing definitely wasn't where it needed to be. I have a feeling Punch-Out will be far more polished though, and damn it's nice seeing a giant King Hippo. Let's hope they don't skip out on some of the more racially stereotypical characters from the past though (ie: Piston Honda, Soda Popinski, etc.)... I worry that they won't include some due to fears of media backlash.

It ships tomorrow, so when you get it depends on if you're getting it at a store, when the store gets it, etc. Nintendo says it's tomorrow, so expect it in stores on Tuesday morning.

If you've reserved it, the store will usually call the night before you can buy it. I got mine at Target because they're giving out posters and $5 gift cards with reservations. Since this is their first time offering reserves, I have no idea if they'll call, but we'll see.

See: Super Macho Man. Never beat him in the NES game,but I just beat him now in the Wii one.

Game's awesome. Some fights are a lot harder, while some are a lot easier. I couldn't knock down Aran Ryan more than twice, so I won by decision. Great Tiger is way harder, too. Meanwhile, I beat Soda Popinski on my first try :D

Exhibition is fucking badass. Don't know how I'm gonna do some of these challenges, though; apparently there's a sweet spot on Joe that lets you OHKO him. Hondo's got two.

Any tips for fighting Great Tiger? I've only played one session of the game so far (been busy most o' the week), and I made it to him. I was expecting his classic spinning tiger punch attack since fighting King Hippo was so similar to the original version, but Great Tiger is much harder than before. So yeah... tips?

Yea,the dude walloped me the first few times too.

Not sure what to say other than to really focus on the flashing jewel or when he flashes red, since dodging when they flash red guarantees that you won't get hit (though some punches require you to duck or dodge a certain direction).

If you hit him when the jewel is flashing yellow, just before he attacks, you can get a star. The same works if you hit him when he flashes red just before an uppercut. He's also got a tricky instant knockdown weakness if you properly time a body blow as he comes at you during his Tiger Rush (meaning you can get a TKO in three punches if you've got the timing of a god).

Played up through Don Flamenco with motion controls and the balance board, but I'm so out of shape that my arms started to hurt so I moved back to NES controls :<

I'm now on Title Defense at Great Tiger, haven't fought him yet. Beating Great Tiger in normal isn't too tough. When his jewel flashes yellow you can punch him for a star, if it flashes red he'll counterattack. When he does his special, focus on the one that isn't transparent and dodge when that one's jewel flashes.

Flamenco's actually a pretty rough fight. He also looks a bit more serious in this one.

My only beef with the game is the your opponents speak in their native language, but there's no subtitles. Makes the between-round commentary kinda weird. The motion controls work really well despite what reviews say. The balance board is too sensitive and doesn't feel like it was actually tested - You shift your weight to the left first to dodge right in reality, but in the game shifting left will make you dodge left.

The language is so basic, you can learn what they're saying if you sit in on one High School French/Spanish/whatever class. VIVA LA FRANCE! CARMEN MY LOVE! Simple stuff.

Still can't beat TD Bald Bull. I got really close last night, but the fucker got lucky in the last round. Stopping the bull charge is almost impossible unless you have perfect timing, so I just opt to dodge it over and over till he stops.
