I actually like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpXSPJZr65s). At first, I thought it was going to be more kiddie. Guess I was wrong. Any one else catch it this last weekend?

Silver Age Batman is win. I would've prefered if they gave him an Adam West-type voice, but other than that, I tink it's f*cking awesome. Really, how can you not love Batman with a light saber?

It's a new show.

It's shit, it's bad enough that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini aren't involved, no classic Blue Beetle, there are no Batman rouges, Gotham, and Batman is voiced by Hoss Dalgado, but this is the unwanted return of goofy stupid Batman instead of the Gritty Avenger we know and love. This is going to fuck up the image of Batman to kids even more then The Batman, which was the thought impossible to out-suck. The show should be called "Crapman: The Gay and The Old"

I've honestly had enough of the serious, EDGY Batman for one year, thanks to The Dark Knight. I just wanna watch something fun. By the way, did anyone else catch the Christmas ep yesterday?

What about next year? And remember what campy Batman gave us last time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKNSstnq4sg

Save the goofy camp for Superman or someone

I saw it. I probably won't be watching it again, but I will agree that it's nice that they're trying to give the campy Batman a place. I'm sure younger audiences will eat it up. The voice actor who does Batman kinda sucks too.

When I have kids, the only Batman cartoon their watching are the Timm/Dini ones and nothing else (Except maybe Batman: Gotham Knight)

I The voice actor who does Batman kinda sucks too.

I'm just really glad that they didn't go with Kevin Conroy again. His voice wouldn't really fit with the whole attitude of the show.

pac-man
Dec 13th, 2008, 11:47 PM
They should've cast Adam West. Diedrich Bader doesn't sound like Batman. Conroy would've been fine; I'm sure he could've adapted to the style of the show. I'd rather listen to Christian Bale's growling than to Oswald from The Drew Carrey Show.

Corey Burton has played two different robots in a DC cartoon
First as Brainiac and now Red Tornado. I'm enjoying the show so far
The Entire Friday night line-up has replaced Smackdown as must see viewing.:)

I love this show. I can't stress how much fun it is to watch it. I love seeing the current age characters represented in a Silver Age universe.

Also, the episode with Aquaman was just too good.

ps: I don't think Durr has ever read The Brave and the Bold, yet alone a single comic book.

They started showing new episodes. This last one had Bat-Mite in it. It had a bunch of shout-outs and throwbacks; The 60's tv series, B:TAS, and even the Bat-Nipple costume. They even made fun of some of the fans:

[They are at a convention panel. They receive a question from a fan who likes Batman more as a "gritty urban crime detective". They give a scrap of paper to Bat-Mite, which he reads]"Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but it's vertainly no less valid and true to the character's roots as the tortured adventurer crying out for mommy and daddy."
