Hey guys, some friends o' mine worked on the show "Manswers" a while back and I had a small guest appearance as a bloody organ harvester. Well, that episode is finally airing tonight. I'll probably only be on the episode for about 5 seconds or so at most in the segment about "three ways to profit from a corpse". It's airing at 11pm tonight on SpikeTV and I'd really appreciate it if one of you could record it as I have no means to do so.

Be forewarned, the show has what I consider to be THE MOST ANNOYING NARRATOR GUY IN THE HISTORY OF TELEVISION. It's one of those guys who tries to make everything seem WICKED! by talking in an overly-energetic voice filled with transparently feigned excitement. It's also one of those shows that's clearly geared towards the mindless fraternity guy demographic, so don't expect it to be anything groundbreaking as 90% of the segments seem to involve beer, boobs, farts... or a combination of all three. Still, they put a fuck-ton o' grease in my hair, had me wear a bloody smock and I got to haul a corpse into my lair... so those five seconds or so should be fun to see. Maybe.

So yeah, if any of you can record it somehow and get me the footage, I'd really appreciate it.

Thankee! :picklehat

Yeah, I'm not sure how anybody who's read a bunch of articles on this site could not know what I look like by now. But here Zelda, just watch my coverage of Spike's 2008 Scream Awards and you'll see me in the video a bit interviewing various people:

Yeah, it was this awesome rickety old elevator lift in the back of a building and they let me control it. Must've gone up and down that thing 20 times that afternoon haha. Sucks though, I was going to have a cigarette hanging out of my mouth but they wouldn't let us because of some fire hazard restrictions in that building or somethin like that.

You remember how it save it Rog?
Nope, I don't. :( Most sites that allow you to download flash videos only work on specific video sites, such as Youtube 'n what not.

I definitely want to kill that narrator... easily the worst thing about the show. As for my little role, I don't think they give Emmys for a few seconds of screen time, but thanks.

Silly Rog, I explained it before, but it's ok. I have it saved. I can save any video off the internet, yes even youtube. I'll convert it into wmv and avi and zip it all up and give you the download link again. If you ever need something like this done or want me to tell you how to do it again, let me know.

I'm at my sister's house soI have no sound, but I get the gist of the video.

I'd be quite annoyed if I donated my body to science only to have used to test landmines. Body donations are supposed to help people, not find new and better ways to blow people up. >:

When I took my forensics class, the whole concept of "body farm" was a new thing and not all over the friggin' Discovery channel. It was a jolt to learn (back then) that you could donate your body "to science" and end up ass-up out in some field so they could study how you rotted.

Now, though, it doesn't surprise anyone.

I keep meaning to donate my body to science. It never really come to mind at the right time.

ZeldaQueen
Dec 5th, 2008, 09:02 AM
It reminds me of this exhibit displayed at my town's Science Center. The exhibit was called "Bodies" I never saw the exhibit because you had to pay extra and it sounded gross. It seemed to consist of displays of bodies arranged like they were running, walking, playing tennis, etc. The thing though was that they had things done to them, like their skin was stripped off so you could see the blood vessels and muscles and things.

The rumor though was that the bodies were actually unclaimed Chinese political prisoners. The reason this was thought up was because the people who donated the bodies couldn't really give a straight answer about where they came from. Creepy...

Tadao
Dec 5th, 2008, 10:45 AM
You missed out, I think that was the exhibit where they sliced a whole body into super thin strips and you could flip though it the way you would flip though a poster rack at a novelty shop. I don't know if I could handle it though.

Ugh, I'd never be able to handle that. I really can't deal with cut up bodies or things like that. The thought of that happening - ugh.

And on an unrelated note, I see you got a new guinea pig avatar, Tadao. It's cute. :)

Yeah, but at least that's to help people by solving crimes, not to kill people.

I used to work as a Deiner in a town just outside of Toronto and the bulk of my job was performing duties during autopsies that the Pathologist didn't like to do.

I saw and did a lot of messed up things while I was there, on a fairly routine basis, in the process of just doing my job.

Wow. I'd never be able to take that job. I had a hard enough time dissecting a worm in my seventh grade biology. I'm a total wuss when it comes to cutting things up. Just as well I never got on to frogs. I'd half expect mine to jump up and start singing the Michigan Rag.

A deiner is pretty much what I described, someone who assists in autopsies and generally does the things a pathologist doesn't like to do. I believe 'deiner' is German for servant, and there are a lot of gross things a pathologist would rather not do during autopsy like milking the guts and picking bugs out of unmentionable areas.

Think of Dr. Frankenstein's Igor...

Actually, at a basic level a deiner washes the bodies, moves people around and preps for autopsies. Sort of like a nurse, I guess.

I studied funeral services right out of highschool and ended up working as a deiner for awhile before moving completely out of the post mordem field of employment.

How much training do you need to be a deiner? All that shit can't be much worse than working retail.
