I thought the original 2 games were actually kinda fun. Holy fucking shit this game is a mess. Apparently the original development team, after being treated like crap over different versions, finally got their miseries put out of them due to Army budget cuts, and there's a new bunch of developers working on it now.

I try like 7 times to enter a game (issues with the authentication server), finally join one and sneak up on some guys trying to snipe, only to find that the game forgot to give me bullets. YAY

Yeah I've tried it a couple of times and it's not the best. Think I'll just hold out for ARMA II to get unlocked on Steam. The new Operation Flashpoint is also coming later this year I think.

I was surprised at how ugly it was. On my system, it looked a lot like that game Warrock. (http://www.gamersfirst.com/warrock/) Eeek.

So we can safely say that the series is successfully sucking youngsters into a life with the military? I honestly thought it wouldn't have increased recruiting numbers that much. I guess it might take a while to get proper results though.

I highly doubt it. But it might be one big beta test for other military projects they have going on.
