Say what you will about how weird the guy was, but there's no denying how big of a musical influence he was or how insanely talented he was. I always hoped he'd get past all the media mess and get back into songwriting. Being a part of the generation that grew up on his music, it's kinda sad to know that's never gonna happen.
May you dance with the zombies forever MJ. :O

But seriously, I won't miss New MJ, but he kicked ass back in the day. Kinda weird to see him go, but after he became such a huge spectacle, I'm glad it's done with.

I apologize for my original thread. I'm pretty bummed about it. Mtv is currently showing some of michael jackson's stuff. I'll always cherish the moment he and I were in the same building when I saw him in new york city during the victory tour back in 1985.

They're gonna start lowering it in, and then there's gonna be a huge BANG, followed by smoke coming out of the hole. When it clears, Black Michael Jackson will be standing on his tombstone, saying 'I'm not dead! I'm alive, and I'm here to ROCK YOUR WORLD ALL OVER AGAIN!'

I didn't really like that video, if only because it was part of a giant movie of him bragging about how awesome he was. Make up your mind, Mike. The song was good, though.
Also, there are rumors now that Jeff Goldblum died too. I'm hoping that's false, though. He seemed alright when he appeared on the Colbert Report.

Man I'm bummed about this.
Just about everyone I know has made some clever "HE HAD SEX WITH KIDS!! HAR HAR!" joke, but you know what? I listened to MJ growing up and I love his music. If you don't like at least two or three MJ songs then I really don't know what the fu*k is wrong with the rhythem in yer bones. Perhaps you're just completely too cool for school (IE a fgt). The man has sold more records than ELVIS. Think about that next time you're listening to yer shitty indie/metal band that has a total fanbase of 20,000 people(most of which are douche bags of epic legend).
Plus he died at such a young age. PS if you think being 50 is old then I hope you fuck*ng die at 50 you stupid cun*.
RIP Michael Jackson.

Watching his music videos on Rage (Australian version of MTV, I think) on a Saturday morning is a very vivid memory I have of my childhood. Eddie Murphy as a Pharaoh and Macauly Culkin playing an electric Guitar. Shocking to see him go, but I think I will remember how much I used to enjoy his music rather than tear up about him dying. I always thought he was really misunderstood, and had a hard time coping in the real world. I felt sorry for him, and it's sad to see him go so early. 50 is middle aged now.
I'm also going to stayaway fromTVfora while, because I don't want to watch the innevitable circus.
I can't remember, did he do his final London show? Sorry for stupid question.

The reason why I can't mourn his death myself, is solely because he wasn't that Michael anymore. He'd stopped being the awesome King of Pop for years now. I also can't see any reason why his great music could make up for the things he did later on in life.

Bad surgery? I dont think his music should have to make up for that. If your talking about anything else... the man was acquitted. Remember innocent until proven guilty.

I forgot about the lengthy masturbation-and-destruction sequence at the end of "Black or White". I remember how shocked people were at the slow-mo crotchgrabbing.
Michael Jackson videos always went on and on and on. That was a big deal with Thriller, that the music video actually played out like a movie and had credits. It was starting to get a little weird with "Black or White"...the Macaulay Culkin skit, the video, the morph (also a huge deal at the time), then the weird panther-Michael destroys a car bit, then a Simpsons skit.
I remember it also blew everyone's mind when the "Billie Jean" video came out and the sidewalk lit up wherever he stepped. He was an innovator.

Have you seen pictures of his kids? I have my doubts that he's the biological father. I mean, its one thing for a multiracial child to be fair-skinned, but Paris Jackson has blue eyes. It isn't impossible for a child with an African-American parent to be blue-eyed, given that most African-Americans have a degree of distant white ancestry, but its very unlikely. :\
I wouldn't want to see them raised by their biological mother or by their grandparents, personally. Hopefully they end up in the custody of one of their uncles, most of MJ's brothers seem to have their heads on straight.

The thing that gets me is that nobody seemed to notice that his SCALP WAS FULLY IN FLAMES. You'd think a crew member would've shouted to him when they saw that his hair was clearly on fire and that he hadn't noticed.

From how I remember things, when you watch from the front, it seems like it's only on fire for a second before everyone jumps in. I don't think anyone was watching from the back, where you can see that is was on fire for some time. That might have been just a camera they have running in the back at all time untended. So maybe the reaction time was right and it was unfortunate that the fire really started cooking down low on the back of this head.
