Is making a Nightmare on Elm Street remake a good idea?
Or, is it just going to ruin a cult classic horror icon??

With the way the current remakes have been going, prolly wont turn out so well. Then again, maybe they'll get it right this time.

It's simple; if you liked the Friday the 13th remake from earlier this year, you'll like this. If you hated it, then you'll hate this.

I never realized that Nightmare on Elm Street was released the exact day/year I was born. That excites me.

New fiery glove? I haven't seen it yet. Where are the pics of it? Have they shown pics of Freddy yet?

Looks ok so far... glad they didn't screw with the look of Freddy too much. I still wanna see a less shadowy pic of him so we know just what he looks like.

What if they keep him all shadowy in the movie?

I'll post a pic of the new Elm Street's police cars (exciting, I know) in the next day or two. My local sign vendor did the vehicle wraps for the movie's fake police cruisers.

Is it me, or isn't it ironic that this comes out a year after Michael Jackson's death, with all the similarities with him and Freddy.
Should've called the film "Michael Jackson: The True Story". Then I would see it.

Yeah, can someone ban him?
Lemme break it down for ya:
Good horror remakes:
Dawn of the Dead
Shitty horror remakes:
The Fog
Last House on the Left
Halloween
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Friday the 13th
...and I'm sure there's more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Yes, I can see how you'd have trouble figuring that out for yourself based on the movies listed. You really are as stupid as they say.

I know the remakes aren't as good as the originals, but I saw Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday The 13th with my cousin, and it was worth it so see her huddle up in her seat every time.
Edit: And I plan to see this remake, too.

agreed. the teaser posters look okay, but it's not the aesthetics of freddy that i think will be affected, more the sick sense of humor and total disdain for teenagers. well, disdain for anyone, really.

While I guess Rorschach would end up making a decent Freddy, I still have my doubts about tampering with the classics.
It's like the Fred Durst who thought Behind Blue Eyes needed a Limp Bizkitification.
