There's this old slasher flick from the 70's/80's that used to come on TBS and USA at really late hours (Up All Night anyone?) that was about a group of teens (possibly college students) staying in a shopping mall overnight. Of course they were also murdered one by one by a mystery killer. It's not Chopping Mall/Killbots or Phantom of The Mall.

Anybody might know the name of this flick?

Can you describe a few of the kills?

A couple were about to (possibly in the course of, tv edits shave off the detail) in the matress section of a department store, to be double impaled. One of the main female characters sacrifices herself so the final girl can get away as the two are running from the killer. Killer is pretty much in all black, similar to Prom Night.

The Initiation (1984)

Took me forever to figure this one out. Think I'm partially misremembering the killers outfit and possibly the double impalement. From what I recall, it was pretty by the numbers. Although as the internet has made note that the princess from Spaceballs was in it.

Also managed to zero out Killer Party. I've been trying to remember that one forever, partially because I keep remembering three different movies. Turns out the three movies I remembered was all the same movie.

I believe the movie you are talking about is Night of the Comet. It's not a Slasher flick. Its a post apocalyptic/zombie film. Sci-fi Horror. I remember seeing it on USA Up All Night. I miss that fucking show. I miss Night Flight too.:wah

He already figured it out, but yeah, Night of the Comet is a great flick that they put back out on DVD not too long ago. Definitely worth checking out. And yeah, USA Up All Night was such a great show, along with Commander USA. They truly could do no wrong.

Up All Night was one of the cornerstones in cable tv.

You know what else is a good one...Strange Invaders. It gave me nightmares when I was a kid.
