I would love to see this happen but with all the regulations of coming into the U.S as of now it seems far from likely.

God, and I thought I hated it when the traffic was bad because of the state fair.

I went to the Olympics when they were in Atlanta. All I really remember was thinking how nasty everything was and wondering why anyone would want to host them. That and womens volleyball.

I was a kid when they were in LA, 7th grade maybe? I remember that it was all one big circus event and the stench of theft and cheap crappy memorabilia stayed for months after it left town.

That's no good to hear. I was thinking about going to the 2012 games in England.

Ha good one, 10k
Obama was nominated to nobel peace prize after only two weeks in the office. Looks like someone got swept up in the obama cult euphoria

I live in the American South, and despite the fact that I disagree with 99% of it, I listen to talk radio. Therefore, I've heard quite a bit of "Obama doesn't deserve this" talk, in much less hospitable language. To his credit, Obama himself acknowledges that he doesn't deserve it (though he probably shouldn't have taken it...) and all things said, I'm glad this means that right wing nutjob radio hosts have started ballyhooing about Nobel credentials and stopped shoehorning Obama into Godwin's Law.
It's almost as if all the comparisons to Bush as Hitler were returned tenfold. The man hasn't even been in office a year yet, and I think I've heard Obama compared to Hitler more than I heard Bush receive similar comparison in eight years. With concessions to my geographical location, of course.
