With 24 PERFECT review scores and NONE below 90, Uncharted 2 is by far going to be one of the best games of the year, if not decade. (For people that go by review scores)

As someone whose finished this myself, it's no joke. Even after the single player epicness finishes, you're going to be pouring tons of time into the surprisingly good multiplayer. Yeah, I love this game, i love it

I dunno if it'll beat Metal Gear Solid 4 for me.

I dunno why they have to compete? They're totally different games other than the 3rd person view

microcock is the only reason I don't like the ps3. I really have nothing else against it.

I was talking about the best game of decade comment in which you posited that Uncharted 2 was better than every game in every genre for the past ten years.

Microshock
Oct 14th, 2009, 03:24 PM
No, I wrote in parentheses that it was based on review scores. I would never call a single game I own the best game of a decade or best game ever, that's just ridiculous

Fathom Zero

I dunno. Even by review scores, Brutal Legend is getting similar ones.

OH BUT IT'S NOT BETTER THEN KILZONE 2 WHICH MICROSHOCK HAD PREVIOUSLY DECLARED TO BE GAME OF THE DECADE :rolleyes

Micro, if you really want people to check this game out, you need to stop saying that you really like it.

Microshock

I really like it
It doesnt affect me in the slightest if you don't buy it, but it'd be pretty remarkable i have the power to keep people from doing things

Microshock MORE LIKE MICROCOCK, RIGHT GUYS?

AM I RIGHT?

Game looks alright. Uncharted bugged me in a few places. I'll wait for it to go on sale.

The beta was excellent and if that was any indication, I should indeed find it a great game.

I'll still get Demon's Souls first, though.

Not so much stopping them from doing something, so much as stopping them from fully enjoying something because it's indelibly tied to a bad memory.

Like how Hitler stopped people from enjoying the toothbrush mustache. That's what you're doing for the PS3.

Call me crazy, but a game advertised to be 'just like a movie' sounds pretty gay to me. I don't want to watch some crazy-badass scenes; I want to play the crazy-badass scenes.

You do. For example, the whole train sequence, you have full control or when the building you're in is being toppled down, you're playing it all

The cutscenes are there for story, they dont make you sit there and not be playing the awesome things. Doesn't mean the cutscenes dont have great stuff in it though

Commercial's weird though, don't know why they want to make it sound like MGS4, i think they want to show it off as a huge big hollywood movie type of experience

Get a good squad for multiplayer, its miles better than being by yourself in a team of some random people, i guess that can be said about any game

You do. For example, the whole train sequence, you have full control or when the building you're in is being toppled down, you're playing it all

i guess i don't understand how these are even cutscenes then. unless they're parts of the game in which you have control but your actions have no consequence (like how you can walk during a cutscene/conversation in assassin's creed but it makes no difference to what happens). in which case, there's nothing great about that

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 02:16 PM
No it's not like that. Cutscenes are cutscenes in this game, things you cannot interact with. The official term for what im talking about is Active Cinematic Experiences, for example, theres a part in the game where you're running down an alleyway from an oncoming truck, so instead of it being a cutscene of you just watching it, youre playing it and actually shooting and being able to move the way you want

Easiest way of saying it is that instead of watching something cool happening, you're making it happen

Dimnos
Oct 16th, 2009, 02:34 PM
So its basically just like the rest of the gameplay but the camera angle is a bit different?

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 02:40 PM
Why would it be like that? I only named one particular scene since it was in the trailer and i don't want to spoil the more exciting stuff

If youre talking about the core gameplay, no it doesn't change but i was talking about that youre actually playing these scenes you usually expect to be in a cutscene

Dimnos
Oct 16th, 2009, 02:53 PM
I was thinking it might be like that part in the first game. Where your in the temple on the wood bridge as the pillars along the side of the room collapse. The control and gameplay are no different than when you are normally playing. The only thing that has changed is the camera angle but its more "cinematic".

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:04 PM
I..guess? This has Drake more involved in the actual moments though, I don't really remember that sequence from the first game, but was he actually a part of it?

Dimnos
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:09 PM
Well he was running for his life. I guess thats why I thought of it when you mentioned the truck. Your running left and right along this bridge jumping gaps trying to get to the end before you get flattened.

I know there are a few other parts of the first one where the camera angle changes in a way not normal to gameplay for an added cinematic affect but you still have full control of Drake. That is just the only one that comes to mind right now.

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:30 PM
Yeah. I emphasized it because bigtimecow assumed it was just you allowing to control Drake during cutscenes.

But it's not like that at all. Sometimes the cutscenes quickly transition into sequences you play though, near the end of the game

Dimnos
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:34 PM
Damn. You already beat that shit?

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:36 PM

Dimnos

Well I suppose you should have it beat in that time. :\

Dr. Boogie
Oct 16th, 2009, 04:05 PM
If youre talking about the core gameplay, no it doesn't change but i was talking about that youre actually playing these scenes you usually expect to be in a cutscene

So there's really no difference in these scenes, apart from your own expectations about when you should or should not be controlling Drake?

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 06:16 PM
I don't know why its so hard for you to understand this

But ok i'll explain it one more time. This is an awesome fucking game, and it has amazing moments in it where epic shit happens. Bam. EXPLAINED.

Dr. Boogie
Oct 16th, 2009, 06:21 PM
Wouldn't it have been quicker for you to just type "yes"?

What I quoted was the end of your explanation to Dimnos. You said that in the game, you will be playing scenes you would expect to be cutscenes. My question is, what is so remarkable about that? Just the spectacle, and knowing you're in control, or what?

Microshock
Oct 16th, 2009, 06:23 PM
I thought your question was rhetorical. Umm, to answer your question, its remarkable cause the scenes are really amazing and that you are playing it and not just watching a movie of the character doing it

Other games have done it before but i don't think on such a scale where you have total control over the character still

Didn't mean to insult you btw, I don't want to start fights with anyone on the forums even with Zomboid

Sam
Oct 16th, 2009, 07:06 PM
