and i have for a bit now, and i'm realizing that my taste has changed a shit ton. i started with the typical bud light because it was purely to get drunk, then changed to sam adams light, then miller high life. right around this point i started tasting a bit heavier beers like any hefenweizen or any IPA

right now i'm in love with hefenweizen UFO, and magic hat #9 is also tantalizing. your prefences?

Started out drinking smirnoff ice :( When you're 15 its either that, Labatt Blue or Bud. Over time my tastes have grown.

UFO IPA is delicious. Saranac makes a really good Imperial IPA which gets you there quick. IPA took me a long time to like. First time I had it I thought it was the worst thing ever. Now one of my fav's. Magic Hat makes one called Hi.P.A. but its only seasonal, I think springtime.

Vermont brewing company makes a pretty great double bag.

One of our local breweries here makes one called Street Brawler which is an Irish Oatmeal stout. I can't even tell you how tasty this is.

I tried a 6 pack of Negro Modelo and I like that a lot. Didn't care for it until I hit # 4 though. Reminds me a bit of Kiri Ichiban beer. Recommended by Tadao I believe.

Beamish tastes better to me than Guiness but I have a lot of Guiness shirts. My family is usually just like "Here's some Mickwear." :)

Personally the best time of year for beer is Fall though(Octoberfest:love:love) Once again Saranac wins out, tastes even better than Sam Adams Octoberfest which is pretty good and available almost everywhere.

When going out to drink I try not to mix too many different beers. IPA and heavy stouts are no good together.

Anyway, after getting the same reaction drinking Miller Lite (yes, I'm that much of a wuss now, it seems) I swore off beer entirely. To regain at least part of my manhood, I went off the deep end for whiskey (or whisky) - bourbon, rye, irish or scotch. Had some Jameson's tonight - very nice.

He proceeds to call me a faggot and go back to his car and I decided I wasn't going to let that fly on by. I first back my car out of the drive way, park it in the street and take this ice scraper that was in my front passenger seat and get out of the car. I'm staring this pathetic fat fuck down and just start beating his window in and yelling all sorts of obsentities. I get back in my car real slow and wait to see if he'll get out, which he doesn't, and then I proceed to drive my way back home.

time for my favorite / least favorite drunk story regarding myself, which i may or may not have told on this board before:

my friend chris' family owns a cabin up in vermont and every winter he grabs a handful of friends to stay there for about a week and just party all week. three years ago was my first time going and with me i brought my girlfriend of the time, sandra, and our friend kayla. the week is going great, drinking every night, taking a trip into canada, listening to metal at absurd volumes; what better to do in the middle of the woods?

finally it is our last night there and i make the horrible decision of smoking a lot of pot along with playing kings and flip cup. needless to say i was horribly fucked up and don't remember much of the night except for one thing, another very very horrible decision. me and another friend on the trip, keith, start listening to killswitch engage extremely loudly and start dancing around the room, acting like absolute retards. we get through about half the album and we're both out of breath from jumping off of couches, onto eachother, etc. (gay bro shit). after this i don't remember anything except for waking up the next morning.

sleeping arrangements: a few people in the living room on the couch, couple people in the den, sandra and kayla in the king size bed with me in the same room sleeping on a fold out at the end of their bed. when i woke up the next morning no one was in the room. i walk into the kitchen and look into the living room to see everyone staring at me. i walk towards them and say "good morning?" and immediately kayla says to me "do you remember ANYTHING from last night?" i tell her that i remember going to bed at some point but that's it. her and sandra then proceed to tell me this:

i went to sleep on my fold out, they went to sleep on the bed. about an hour into my sleep i get up, pull down my boxers and begin peeing on the nightstand next to kayla's side of the bed. kayla wakes up and begins yelling at me. at this point i attempt getting into bed with her, still peeing, and apparently make it in (or at least my pee made it into the bed). sandra wakes up and also starts yelling at me while i fight with kayla to try to get into bed with her. eventually i stop and go right back onto the fold out and pass right out.

after this is told to me they bring me to the washer and dryer, where the nightstand cover, their pillow cases, and chris' parents' sheets and comforters are being washed. i am stunned. i apologize ten-fold and feel absolutely horrible while all my other guy friends there laugh hysterically because they didn't know about any of this until they woke up that morning

the worst part is, the next year we went back, and on the last night i woke up shortly after falling asleep and stood in the doorway proclaiming that i needed to pee and whoever was in the bathroom needed to get out or i was going to pee all over the carpet. the bathroom is a step away from the bedroom doorway and the door was wide open with the light off. eventually everyone convinced me that no one was in there and rest assured my pee ended up in the toilet where it belonged. however, when i woke up the next morning my friend mike first tried to tell me i was threatening to pee on him all night, which turned out to be a lie.

so, yeah. that's my prize story. any takers?

HOWEVER THEY WERENT THERE. SEEING AS HOW IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY I DECIDED IT WOULD BE OKAY IF I ENTERED THEIR BACKYARD AND WENT THROUGH THEIR SLIDING GLASSS DOOR WHICH THEY LEFT OPOEN CAUSE THEYRE DUMB. WE PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE HOUSE AND THE FAT DUDE (WHOS NOT THE FRIEND I WENT TO HANG OUT WITH BUT WHO TAGGED ALONG) IMMEDIATELY GOES TO THE GIRL OF THE HOUSE'S ROOM AND LOOKS THROUGH THEIR UNDERWEAR CAUSE HES FAT AND HAS SOMETIMES BEEN KNOWN AS THE PINK PANTIED PANTHER CAUSE HE WORE PINK PANTIES ONE TIME AND HES FAT AND MY FRIEND SAW THEM :( ALSO THE NIGHT BEFORE MY FRIEND WHOS NOT FAT/A PINK PANTIED PANTHER FOUND A NOTE (WHICH IM PRETTY SURE MY NONPINKPANTIEDPANTHERFRIEND WROTE) WHICH SAID, "WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THEM PINK PANTIES?" :lol

I do have one about a great-aunt of mine who used to go around tanked all the time, at least from what I've been told. She showed up at my grandmother's house one time late at night drunk as hell, in a nightgown, in a floor length fur coat with a little dog under each arm and her pockets stuffed full of valuables. When my grandmother opened the door, my great-aunt said, "My house is burning down, I need to stay here for a while."

After my grandmother let her in and spent a couple of hours assuming that she was having some sort of alcoholic hallucination, people finally started calling her house trying to track down the aunt. Turned out that her house was really burning down and she must have just put on her coat, grabbed her dogs, turned around and walked off. They thought she'd died in the fire.

Several years ago my friends and I went to a playground behind a church to get inhumanly drunk and play on the swings. The church bus was parked nearby. It was a renovated schoolbus, so the doors were easily pushed open. We used the back as a urinal. Eventually my friends decided to pants me, underwear and all. They took my undies and tied them to the bus's side mirror. One of them wanted donuts, so they jumped in the car and went to the donut shop, leaving me to wander around half naked behind a church in the middle of the night. Luckily, I found my pants and put them on before the cop showed up. Someone had called the cops and reported a drunk person wandering around behind the church. I remember falling backwards on my ass as the cop shined his light on me. Meanwhile at the donut shop...

My friend Marc decided to flirt with the girl behind the counter. Always the king of smooth, he said "hey, can I have your number?" and immediately puked all over the counter. Making a swift exit, they got back in the car and returned to the church to find me and the cop. Thinking quickly, they explained that I had just left the bar across the parking lot and called them for a ride home. I wandered around because I was simply waiting for them to show up. The cop let us all go, and I got in the backseat. Unfortunately the motion of the car made me have to puke. I couldn't roll down the window in time, so I puked in Marc's lap, causing him to puke again. The next day, I realized I lost my keys in the playground. So it was back to the church in the morning, searching the sand for my keys while horribly hungover, as well-dressed people entered the building for morning services. I never found them, but at least I didn't spend the day cleaning vomit out of my friend's car.

I think the purple case is HOWL which I haven't seen yet. Sam Adams Cherry Wheat is really tasty but I can't drink too much of them, kinda sweet.

I may be a little late in the game, but.. My favorite types of beer are Blue Moon, Sam Adams (sans Cherry Wheat -too sweet for me), Arrogant Bastard, Stella Artois, and a few others I can't seem to remember off the top of my head.

Unfortunately, I like the beer that isn't cheap, so I don't get to drink it too often. As a broke person, most of the time I'm drinking Coors Light, Bud Light, and Keystone Light. Unpleasant yes, but they taste pretty much like water when you don't think about it, and they're pretty darn cheap. And when you're drinking large quantities, that's what you need. When I'm drinking casually, I tend to spend the extra few dollars so that I can actually enjoy what I'm drinking.

Pertaining to drunk stories, I don't do too much embarrassing stuff except for the incoherent babbling, the taking off my clothes (but thankfully keeping on the underwear and bra), and the making out with someone (guy or girl, when I'm drunk it doesn't really matter). Luckily, I've never done more than one of those things at once, except with my boyfriend at the time.

The other night, we had some friends over, and one of them left a couple of Bavarian style Hefeweizen's at my house. I decided to drink one last night, and thought it tasted a little funny, so I looked at the label. It literally says" an array of distinct flavor qualities typical of a true Hefeweizen: citrus, bubble gum, clove, and banana". Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to mix the flavors of bubble gum and bananas into a beer?! No wonder it tasted so nasty!

there's an awesome local brewery in lowell (and i guess in boston, and salem?) called beerworks, and me and my studio-mates and professors go there every couple weeks. they have a lot of great beers, such as lowell pale ale, boston common, and, the infamous, belgian quadruple. it's fermented 4 times and is super strong, and i guess there's suppose to be a cut off after two of them

I've had a belgian strong ale before but I'm sure it wasn't THAT strong. Sounds amazing though. EBC and Flying Bison breweries are pretty close that are actually really good.

Best local brew in Columbus comes from a brewery named Elevator. I wish both of you (Bigtimecow and 10k) could have a schwill of this micro brew, you both would enjoy it. My personal favorite that they offer is their Dark Horse Lager which is lightly hopped with a very smooth dark taste. They offer other extensive lagers, pilsners, ales, etc that are all extremely tasteful. The best part is that they give you this huge jug (reminiscent of the moonshine jug) which you can take back to have refilled for half the price which is roughly $5. Nothing can beat it, I'm just glad the frat fucks haven't discovered this beauty because it would be a disgrace to see it being abused in an awful ways such as seeing little plastic balls floating atop of it.

I've been playing Easter Beer Hunt for a while now.. It is AMAZING! You have someone hide beers instead of eggs, and you find them, and then drink the whole beer before moving on to find the next one. Brutal, but very entertaining. I think I'm on my tenth beer of the past two hours. We've played three games, and I've won every one! Congratulations to me! It's thicker and less creamy more in line with their original recipe. They had a Guinness 250th anniversary edition too that was supposed to be their original recipe but I didn't care for it because it was carbonated instead of using nitrogen like normal guinness and extra stout.

I just tried Guinness back on St. Patty's. It's pretty different from the other beers I must say. It's almost like it's a meal, not a drink.
e: also I should mention that I've been drinking more of Coors Light and Stella Artois. More leaning towards Coors. Still plenty left to try though. And since I'm on a zilch budget it'll take me a while.

The other day, I bought a 12 pack of Sam Adams that had 6 different types in it-Boston Lager, Light, Summer Ale, Pale Ale, Blackberry Whitier, and Latitude 48, which is apparently a new IPA they've come out with. I've had all before except the Blackberry and the IPA, though I haven't liked all of them. I am pleased to say that both of these new (to me) ones are delicious.

I was a little hesitant about the Blackberry because I've had the Cherry Wheat. I remember wanting to try that for the longest time, and was so excited and then disappointed when I finally did. It just tasted like cough syrup. The Blackberry flavor was not like that at all. It was incredibly subtle and delicious, as was the Latitude 48. But since it was an IPA and I prefer darker beers, that was to be expected. :)

beerworks had a new, stronger beer last night called the hercules. my friend dave, who usually drinks 3 of the quads (supposed to be a cut off at 2) and isn't usually piss ass drunk, was destroyed after 2 hercules'
