I like how Martin Sheen looks like Martin Sheen, playing the character Martin Sheen.

Have you tried? I've never preordered any game and I usually go in a day or two afterward and they still have tons. This was even for GTA IV, where I showed up at midnight wanting a copy.

I have class right away and the store opened like 20 minutes ago, so going before wasn't an option. I'll try after I'm done school today, but that's at 5. If I'm reeeeally lucky I'll be able to get one of the Collector's Editions still :(

I want to get this but with all the trouble I have had with my box I have lost my ME1 saves. I feel like I need to replay the first one before this new one. :(

At least you should know a lot about the first one, it really pays off, since all the small things come back to put a smile on your face.
Like Hamlet with an all-elcor cast. Some news terminal said something about a guy planning something like this. Now, two years later it is an award-winning-14-hour-masterpiece. :lol
Honestly, get that game right away. Up until now everything was really good about it (about 10 hrs in)

I ordered a collector's edition from a seller on ebay. I payed about 50 bucks more than it would've been had I pre-ordered, but I feel it's justified.

I tried to think of another game that I wanted so bad that I bought it on two platforms...I don´t think I ever did that before...either my patience is REALLY something I should work on, or ME2 is really THAT good. Hm.

Ok, whoever I was talking to about the release date here was wrong, because I picked it up yesterday.
Amazing. I played it for 8 hours before realising it wasn't night anymore and I had to go to work in two hours.

I haven't had that in a long time. I'm glad it happened this time; I have been waiting for a game to get me back into playing games and not just being bored with them after a few minutes.

Finished it yesterday after about 36hrs. Truly a great game, some of the best writing in a long time, likeable characters, good battles...some not so good things too of course, but they can work on that (way too few weapons and armor-parts)

I first thought that maybe I had just the tip of the iceberg as far as weapons are concerned, but it really is just that there are so few.
I like all the characters except for Miranda. Hate her.

I only really can´t stand Jack...impolite Wreck of a freakshow. Miranda...meh, not really cared about her, she´s too sure of herself and never tires of reminding me about it.
Who I really liked though I thought I wouldn´t is Samara, she´s really a nice person to have around :)

Some promotional thing from Dr Pepper on Destructoid.
Basically, you register a fake account with Dr. Pepper, enter in a code, then go log in with EA, then log in again with Bioware. Once you do all that, you can get one of three promotional pieces of headgear.
You can get all three if you make a new Dr. Pepper account (which is easy since they don't verify your info). It's just up to you whether or not you want to spend the time to get a helmet that gives you +5% in either power damage, weapon damage, or shields.

True, but I still would like to get them, I´d actually pay for them, if they were made available on XBL or the Cerberus Network, simply because there is hardly any equipment in the game as it is now...I mean, come on, 3 Headpieces of which one is totally useless? (+10% Negotiation? WTF)

For those with the Cerberus Network, have they added anymore DLC besides Zaeed and the Normandy Crash Site?

They added some special Cerberous armor and shotgun.

You know, I'm pissed off that I couldn't finish the game without
PEOPLE ENDING UP DEAD.
I loaded previous save games and still couldn't figure out how to do it without
LOSING CREW MEMBERS.
Damn.

I've heard that loyalty is the deciding factor in all that.
I never had that problem, but then again, I managed to do all the loyalty minutes.
OxBlood
Feb 15th, 2010, 09:15 AM
As far as I know, it goes like this:
-Do all normal loyalty missions
Edit: -Get all upgrades for the SR2, sure, just forgot that, thanks for the reminder, Dimnos.
-Do Legions LM when you get it, do NOT do anything else before that
-Have a high enough Paragon/Renegade Score to settle the two disputes among the crewmembers
So basically, you have to do any sidemissions before you go get the specific part for you little spaceship, since that would lead to getting the last loyalty mission.
Dimnos
Feb 15th, 2010, 10:51 AM
From what I understand there are certain factors for each character that determine whether they live or die. Loyalty is a factor for most but not necessary for all?
I.E.
Tali's life is totally dependent on whether you upgrade your ships shields. After going through the Omega relay, you get into a fight with some collector ships and Joker eventually has to ram your ship through some space junk. If you have upgraded your shields everything is fine. If you havnt then there is an explosion and she is killed. Im not 100% sure but I dont think loyalty plays a part in this example at all.
Zhukov
Feb 15th, 2010, 11:43 PM
WELL. I think that is all bullshit.
Since I had upgraded my shields and Tali died later on once inside the collector ship, I sent her into the tunnels to open a back door somewhere or whatever, and when she got out she was shot in the back from a stray laser before I could close some broken doors or, you know, whatever the fuck was going on. Also, my lezzer love interest with the red hair died from being stuck in one of those cocoons. I upgraded my ship fully, did every single one of the loyalty missions, and raped the entire universe 100% of all its natural resources while I was at it. Maybe my Paragon level wasn't the highest it could get...hmmm..
I did have a spat with Miranda after taking Legion on board, but even that bitch survived to the end.

Feb 16th, 2010, 12:19 AM
You need to go there like immediately upon the mission presenting itself, or you lose the lezzer.
Dr. Boogie
Feb 16th, 2010, 12:24 AM
Well if you've got the three ship upgrades, I don't know what else it could be.
When I did it, I went like this:
Specialist: Legion
Fire Team Leader: Garrus
Barrier: Jack
2nd Fire Team Leader: Jacob
Crew Escort: Thane
And everyone was fine.

Yeah, I guess I did wait a long time, what with trying to complete the game 100% and everything. Maybe next time I decide to complete Mass Effect 1 and 2 I'll remember to be quicker.

I just made sure to go through and do everything before the Omega-4 Relay, because, well, it's a suicide mission. If you make logical choices in regards to who you send where near the end, everyone should make it out alright. Like, who is going to be a better hacker than Legion or Tali?

Oh man that was her name :( I loved her and took her out to dinner but I never remembered her name. We were going to make a family. Do you think I'm not haunted by these decisions?! Do you think it was easy to put individual lives after the greater good?
She forgot to feed my fish after she offered to do so, so maybe she got her comeuppance.
Although maybe it was only because she was captured by aliens at the time. :(

Sometime in March, they'll apparently be adding a vehicle into the game, with five of its own missions. It seems silly to add a standalone vehicle section like this, but hey, it's free.

To bad it doesnt replace scanning the planets. :\ I hated driving around in the mako in the first one but it sure beats the hell out of the boring ass scanning in 2.
