Got this game a little while ago. Really loved all the hunting for shit, but I'm a few missions into Mexico and the whole thing is starting to wear on me.

Is there some way to decrease the level of Dead Eye shooting you use? Because lvl 3 is inferior to lvl 2, and that sanctimonious old man can kiss my ass.

I thought it was alright. A lot of the missions are the same. I never figured out how to rob places, people, trains, etc. So I missed out on all the fun stuff besides lassoing a nun and dragging her off a cliff.

The story was another story of revenge, blah blah blah. I figured out the ending pretty quick, though the last few missions were nice, getting back into the former life and all that.

I'd say it's definitely worth a rental. At least try it, guys. The glitches are a lot of fun, too.

Im not seeing how Dead Eye lvl 2 is better than 3. :confused: I am constantly owning fools with lvl 3. Ride up behind a group of four guys and instantly get four head shots. OR whats even better is riding up to a group of guys on horses and instantly shoot all their horses in the head and watch them all go flying. :lol

You just do a few missions for the old man then he disappears. You dont have to put up with his shit for long.

Because in lvl 2, you just line up the reticule with the heads, then sweep it across, whereas 3 requires you to align it perfectly with each head and manually mark them. It's an extra step, basically.

Initially, I thought Dead Eye level 2 was better, but level 3 has grown on me. It's actually pretty useful being able to manually place your shots instead of having your targets painted automatically; you end up using your shots more effectively.

I ask because I have both and after using the carcano I think I still like the rolling block better. Ever notice how when you shoot you can see the bullet fly? Ever notice how sometimes it looks totally off center from your crosshairs? Is that a built in inaccuracy? If so I think the carcano, while having a higher rate of fire and ammo capacity, is less accurate than the rolling block. Shots that Im pretty sure I should have made miss. Or it generally does less damage and just takes two shots to kill someone while the rolling block only needs one hit to kill. Of course I could just be overestimating my snipping abilities. Once you get it play around with it and let me know what you think.

Yeah, I've noticed that weird sniper shit. Sometimes, when someone is running horizontally in front of me, I'll take a bunch of pot shots with a repeater and it doesn't look like the shots are hitting, but evidently, they are. I definitely prefer the rolling block too, though. The sniper rifles are a bit odd, to say the least.

That one is pretty easy compared to the bear knifing that you have to do later. Dead eye them in the ass/legs area with a weak gun, then it should run away, which is when you chase it down on horseback and knife it from atop your mighty steed!

Actually, it can be easy enough to do on foot, too. If you survive the initial attack, usually the cougar is kinda standing still, sizing you up; when it's doing that, just run up and a couple knife slashes should do it.

Got booted from that game and ended up in another one with Zomboid. We were running around with a big posse when one of them decided he was bored and started shooting everyone in the back. I decided to kick his ass and ended up accidentally shotgunning someone else in the face right as they spawned. The group then thought I was the one killing everyone and they too booted me. Twice in one day because bitches cant hang. They should just remove the ability to kick people. :lol

The worst was that ride to Bonnie's ranch with your wife nagging you the whole time. And when you leave, Bonnie gives that longing look because she knows as well as the player that it would've been better if John had never gotten his family back.

And once John has been thoroughly beaten and humiliated with menial ranch work, the army comes and he's just so beaten down that he gives up and walks into a hail of bullets.

And the icing on the cake: you have to play as his shitty, cheap-looking Johnny Depp knockoff of a son. Boo, Rockstar, boo. You were supposed to put all those endgame missions at the beginning so the players would have even the slightest interest in rescuing John's family. Hell, they ran like tutorial missions anyway.

Seriously, it's a good story move I think even though I agree with 100% of your comments.

The point is you pretty much finish the game after killing Dutch. It's just too bad we didn't know that so we could have a save handy. You can't even switch outfits after starting the Ranch bs. I'm a fan of bold story moves like that though when it comes to completion of a story it's just that most authors usually finish the story before or right when the hero rides into the sunset. Rockstar didn't seem to care about that and instead did a 360 to introduce Jack. Your son Jack is a bitch, rancher life was boring and your family are all bitches then you die and the cycle repeats. Jack could be developed. I mean, most of us were quite stupid at his age so I can get over his early development.

We were blowing each other up with dynamite yesterday and the game ran out of explosion effects or something. So a bunch of times he killed me with dynamite it didn't show an explosion and then the dynamite refilled in his inventory.....so he came up with a DYNAMITE BOOMERANG.

The new achievements are ridiculous. I was losing real bad then won on the river card. My achievement was "In a van, down by the river."

I watched the trailer for the undead pack and it looks like they just took the infected from left 4 dead and made Red 4 Dead Redemption.

Got it and started playing. Actually like it. Only made it as far as the first 3 cutscenes in single player though. I do like how its independant of the regular game. I really don't like playing as kid marston.

Multiplayer for it is really fun.
