I took the plunge and bought the black wii system, my first gaming system since ps1. The games I have are sports, resort and new super mario. I have 1080/120 lcd tv and I want sharper picture to reduce the jaggles and motion blur in games. Wii doesnt have hdmi so which component cables brand should I get to replace the stock cables? So far Ive heard monoprice.com is good.

Try old coat hangers and silly putty. Well, really any non-Newtonian liquid.

overpriced cables are a sham. Just get anything with gold plate and you're fine. Even radio shack brand.

If you're too much of a consumer whore to do that, go with monster cables. At least they're only 2-3x more expensive than necessary.

There's a good guide (http://www.brighthub.com/electronics/home-theater/articles/69065.aspx) on Bright Hub about getting better picture out of the Wii.

And MonoPrice is a perfect place to get the component cable. In fact I recommend this one (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10830&cs_id=1083007&p_id=5638&seq=1&format=2).
It's still plenty cheap and works with all three systems. :)

Yeah, the absolute cheapest ones will be as good as the most expensive.

I was being sarcastic originally, because you SHOULD buy the best you can afford. Willie is right.

Why would they charge you MORE for a product that is essentially the same and does the same job? That's not how the economy works Geggy, and you know it.

Get the good ones.

That's where I buy all of my cables. Great products, great prices and their deliver has always been very speedy. Never had a problem with them.

Hey thanks for the recommendations y'all. I ended up buying one from monoprice for $7 and i notice a slight difference in picture and sound but not much. It's still better than the composite cables. I'd rather spend 60 dollars of hard earned cash on games than upgrading the wii to 1080p.
