I then wen Engie, and was the only thing keeping them past the last checkpoint, and no one bothered trying to keep spies off me. Fucking hell, guys.

The new players didn't piss me off till I had one asshole begging for shit. I mean, if you want it that bad, do the achievements or pay two fucking dollars.

My scout's pretty awesome; I mostly use him to haze people and don't get too caught up in kills, and always keep an escape plan. He's second played. The new shotgun is fucking awesome. The pistol less so. And the bat certainly opens up a lot of options, like leaping over people or making crazy escapes.

Really didn't like the spy's new stuff. I've mainly been rolling Saharan because it's really easy to string together 5 kills or clear out an engie base. Also, I swear half the assholes on there don't know about crouch jumping. Makes hiding so fucking easy.

Scouts are my worst class; I can never get their style down, and good scouts are impossible for me to hit.
I've been getting some nice streaks with the Eternal Reward, though, and I make a decent enough Soldier. It's a fucking rush when you use the buff banner on your team, and a medic Ubers you, right when you make the final push into a fortified area in Payload.
EDIT: I also just made a new Steam account and got TF2 on it. I bought two keys, and BAM, $5 TF2 account. Now I can just trade those keys over to my main account, along with the extra drops I'll get now.

I like the Quick Fix, but since I tend to pocket-medic with my friend, I don't use it much. It's good if you're going to spend the match healing everyone on your team at once, but not being able to uber a soldier or heavy is a big tradeoff. :\

holy shit i got the analog stick on my g13 to work with TF2 with actual analog motion

by default, some retard at valve has the stick set to move forward/backward and turn, like you're playing sonic adventure or something. you have to open up the tf2/cfg/config.cfg file and change the following values:

joy_advanced "1"
joy_advaxisx "3"
joy_advaxisy "1"

i could not find a guide ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET that would reveal how to do that to me, so i spent about an hour fucking around with the config file's values until i found the magical combo to make it work. advanced 1 lets you change the axes, axisx 3 makes left and right strafe, axisy 1 makes up and down move forward and back like usual. if you already have TF2 booted, you have to type "exec config.cfg" into the console to make it work. hopefully this page will show up on google searches about this because fuck that was irritating to figure out. valve you are usually pretty bright about this shit, why the momentary lapse of retardation? btw i really recommend the g13 and it's a relatively inexpensive piece of equipment.

now i can do hilarious things like creep VERY SLOWLY as the scout. it looks especially funny in the surrender animation.

I like it more now than a month ago. It feels like there's enough stuff that there's actual variety in the game. Before, I thought it was kinda constricting.

The weapons add a huge new level to gameplay. It's kind of nice to find a random weapon, and to be able to switch around weapons and changing your playstyle on the fly.
Hats, however, are fucking confusing, since there is a whole economy for them.
I just got four Summer keys; one of which to open a crate, which I got the motorcycle cop helmet, and I figure I can sell the other three. If i can't, big whoop; I get three keys in return.

The good thing about trading servers is that if you can get that certain amount of reputation around, a lot more people are willing to trade with you. I reached mine when I made up a drinking game for unboxing crates, called Unboxtoberfest. If the unbox is a paint, take a shot. Hat, three shots. Unusual, whole damn bottle.

This update is fucking hilarious because nobody realizes how horrible of a weapon that laser canon is. It moves at about two miles per hour and the Soldier basically has to completely stop moving for a few seconds to do any decent damage with it. It might as well be a giant sign that says "please headshot and/or backstab me as I am immobile and not paying attention to my surroundings"

I'm kind of relieved Valve did this, because before last night everyone was spamming the Liberty Launcher. Fast rockets with no splash are fine, and slow rockets with lots of splash are annoying, but managable. However, fast rockets with normal splash, pretty much for free, are some fucking bullshit. They have one less shot, I guess, but they're less likely to miss, and it only takes two good hits to kill most classes.

If the Cow Mangler pisses you off, here's what to do: Go Scout, then equip the FaN, pistol, and Atomizer. You now have a quad jump, which is almost as good as a jetpack. I basically wreck everything with this setup, and most Soldiers are whores for splash damage and can't actually hit a moving target.

Now that I think about that, the Engineer could get a jetpack.

Well, if you hit a teammate, it still counts as a hit and doesn't hurt yourself. I mainly just bash the shit out of Snipers. It makes short work of them, actually.

Really, I didn't know that. It would be easier to smash a sniper with it, but with most moving targets I just end up braining myself. Lately I've only been rocking the Atomizer. The triple jump is great, and if you have a Force-a-Nature with you, you can crank it up to a quadruple jump.

I just got done pub stomping and can confirm that it works wonderfully on snipers and medics that are healing their heavy buddies. +20 for moi.

I'm getting the hang of the Basher, I think. If you see a bundle of people, it's best to just take a whack out of each person and run. Maybe the bleed'll kill someone, but it's primarily going to make them panic and likely to split apart. That's when you run circles around someone - when they're by themselves. I think I went 3 for 1 most of the game. Never go for pyros, unless you know it'll be the killing blow. Nothing's worse than missing, bleeding yourself, and being on fire. You've got no chance then. :(

pyro, soldier, and demo are easiest imo, sniper is also easy to pick up if you've played a lot of FPS games

heavy and engineer are also easy but require a bit of learning (teamwork & ubers VS how to build shit and where to build it)

medic is easy if you're just pocket medic to one guy, but being a good medic can be pretty challenging.

scout and spy are the hardest, but scout is about reflexes and spy is about outsmarting people. both classes also require knowledge of the map and some planning skills.

Soldier is the best beginner class, but it's also completely gay because it pretty much trumps everything in a one-on-one fight and has no hard counters. Heavies, at a stretch, but they're slow as shit and can't dodge rockets while they're spun-up.

Pyro's gotten a lot less insane lately because something like half the classes are capable of putting out fires now.

I played a few rounds on the quickmatch, where my team actually was balanced across the classes. It felt fucking awesome, actually having a team that naturally worked together without needing t ocommunicate. We won 16 of 20 rounds.
I love that gamer high, when you're kicking untold amounts of ass and damn proud.

Also, since I mainline Medic, I fucking hate useless Medics. This is mostly the pocket medics; it does the team MUCH more good to keep everyone healthy, and not that one fucking Heavy, okay, asshole? And you, guy who is PLAYING Heavy, stop telling me that it's my job to follow you the whole round, because it's actually my job to keep EVERYONE alive.

I unboxed an unusual hat yesterday, a flaming soldier's helmet with an unexploded rocket lodged in it ("Lucky Shot"). I had no idea how much it was worth or why I should care, and I never play soldier, so I traded it for a strange grenade launcher, strange ullapool caber, and two keys, shit I'd actually use.

About 4 hours later, the guy I traded it to messaged me back and told me it was literally one-of-a-kind and worth like 900 IRL dollars. What.

My new favorite class is Shotgun Pyro. That's not just "Pyro with a shotgun equippped," that's "Pyro who treats the shotgun as his primary weapon and only takes out the flamethrower in emergencies or when ambushing a huge group."

It sounds like it'd be awful, but if you're hot shit at shot placement (which I am since you have to learn good aim when using the Frontier Justice) you can rack up a pretty awesome body count; I think my best round last time I played was 40-something kills and 4 deaths, with three or four dominations.

I think the thing about it is that the Pyro is the only class with that specific combination of health, speed, and shotgun; the Engineer and Scout die if you cough on them, the Soldier and Heavy are painfully slow, and, for me, the Scout moves way too fast to ever aim properly (I'm getting a bit better but it's deffo not my best class). And the Pyro still has a flamethrower to fall back on if he needs it, which is a damn good weapon by itself. It's so much fun, and pretty much nobody sees it coming; they all expect you to take out your flamethrower any second and stay at mid-range from you, where you'll still be doing at least 40 damage per shot.

It doesn't really work on brute-force push maps like Dustbowl or Goldrush, though; as with playing Pyro normally, you need to ambush people, and those maps are basically just winding hallways that you spam explosives down until your team wins.

I just use the shotgun that does extra damage in the air, and the degreaser. Just light them, puff them into the air (preferably at a wall), and shoot them with the shotgun. Feels so badass every time.
