View Full Version : Anyone's 2011 Halloween costume coming together yet?
Kitsa

It seems early, but I'm freaking out because it seems like I was already working on Stay-Puft this time last year. And it's hard to top Stay-Puft, at least when the costume contest judge is dressed like Egon.
I don't know what I'm going to do, myself. I've got my Joey Ramone wig and glasses. I guess I can be Joey Ramone but short, and fat, and also a woman.
Anyone?

I used to love to do all the whole halloween thing, but over the years I went from participant to spectator. I still enjoy seeing others participate though. I kind of mourn for the guy in me who loved doing it all passing, because I have fond memories of going out of my way to enjoy haunted houses and halloween parties and the like. But one year the haunted houses all were bad or staffed with fuckwads, and I think that turned it all off for me.
So please everyone do fun stuff and take fun pictures, i can still enjoy that much of it

You could always go as a cheaply made robot in a cape if you get in a pinch.

That was a few halloweens ago. I haven't done too much else the past few years other than a pillowcase over my head one year and a mexican gang member (pants pulled up, only the top button of my shirt buttoned, white undershirt). Only a few people at the party found it racist.

I have a costume party to go to and now I have to figure out an idea. If it were just me on my own, amusing myself, I would probably go ahead with my "Joey Ramone but short, fat, and also a woman", but now I have to think up something that will work as half of a couples costume, or a family costume.
I am short and fat. He is tall and fat. Shrek and Fiona worked out well for us last year but we can't do that two years in a row.
I'm having trouble finding costumes that aren't slutty. I'm just not the type.

Unless I come up with a better idea, I will be Judge Judy. This makes a couples costume nearly impossible...Mr. Kitsa as Byrd would be vaguely racist, and any attempt to make him look like a bailiff would end up looking like Big Boss Man.

I really am at a loss of what to go as this year, I've been slacking for whatever reason. I'm sure something will come to me soon though... The problem is I wont be spending Halloween in my home town or neighbourhood so I may have to change how elaborate the costume is, travel wise.

I was going to make a Medic form TF2 costume, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting that done anytime soon. So I'll probably make a Creeper from Minecraft costume instead.

I'm going to attach the lacy collar to my judge judy costume today. It looks pretty good, considering.
I got some bronzer and some dark blush to try and give me the more tanned, high-cheekbone look that she has. I have the freckles and a less angular face, so I look like Judge Judy's plump and friendly cousin, kinda.
Still trying to figure out what to do for Mr Kitsa's. The clock is ticking...Foy's is a bit of a drive, and I only plan to go once this season.

I bought an amazing prop chainsaw - the chain actually moves and it makes really loud rev noises. The purchase was a total impulse, so now I have to build a costume around it to legitimize what I spent on it.
I might go with the classic Leatherface but I'm leaning more towards psycho clown.

Is it this one? My brother's friend did some work for this company and he had this promo model laying around and gave it to me. One of the sequences is this really obnoxious advertisement talking about the company and welcoming everyone to whatever summit these were debuted at.

It ended up being very hot and itchy to be Judge Judy. I got the wig on ebay and I think it must have come off a dead hooker or something. Also, one of the clip earrings kept coming off and catching in the lace collar, and I don't really have visible eyebrows so I had to pencil them in and that looked pretty stupid.
All in all, I don't look anything like Judge Judy and the Judge Judy costume really didn't change that.

About a million guys either wearing green body suits or the Guy Fawkes mask, too. Some guy dressed as an onion (?) was totally bashed and left in a gutter and I don't even care.

My kid won first prize at our city's costume contest this morning for her chicken pox costume. It was a chicken suit with red spots all over it, and her trick or treat bucket was a jumbo bottle of calamine lotion. Most of the under-20s just thought she was a chicken, but the older people (the judges) got it.
