Actually knowing what I'm playing is way more difficult than I would have imagined. I sometimes spend an hour doing theory homework and my head hurts. 7 years of feeling tunes out =/= knowing what you are doing.

Stick with it. It will do you a world of good. I took some in college, and it still benefits me, even though I've forgotten a lot. Keep at it. Be better than most of the losers in the popular music world. Theory will show you why the good stuff is the good stuff.

It's so hard already, I'm only in basics. Honestly, I want to drop the class but something just keeps me going. My homework is ridiculous though, I'm almost tempted to scan it in to see if anyone can help.

If I remember correctly you have been in school for 2 years now. You suck and will always suck and no one will even hire you to play back up on a 50's revival show because you can't even figure out a 9th from a discorded major.
