:O
I will whine about new episodes here! You may, if you wish!
Did anyone watch the halloween episode? I think that they actually didn't make it suck as bad as it could have this time. Don't get me wrong, the first two stories were godawful, but the Clockstoppers parody was awesome. I think this is one of the few shows that i prefer they kept clean.

this should be called the "I hate the simpsons and want it taken off the air, but I won't stop watching it and giving it ratings so that will never happen" thread.

Nay, i've recently come to a point of optimism for the show. I think that maybe the past few seasons were just a hurting season for writing. I want the show to finish its run (though yeah, i didn't before) so that it can take its place as the longest running animated sitcom on TV, and i've still got a little hope for this show. I figured i'd rather start one thread and bump it every sunday than start a new one each time. Saves space. Easy reference. Not that anyone else would really care, but...

I don't know, Simpsons has been around forever and I don't think they are doing a bad job with the show considering they have already done practically everything possible. Sure it could be better but it's still one of the better shows on tv.

After the Halloween episode, I'm never going to watch another new episode of the Simpsons again. I watched some (or most? I don't know how many I missed) of last early season and it depressed me so much that I stopped watching it, but I watched last night because I love Halloween episodes of anything.
The third segment wasn't even a Halloween episode. It was a parody of a movie that isn't at all scary, but rather an empowering tale of young adults defeating evil grown-ups with a magic watch. It just seems obvious to me that the Simpsons have run out of ideas, which makes me real sad because it was probably my favorite show for like 10 years.
I wish they would just take it off the air and replace it with something funny :(

I think the Simpsons got fucked up while he started Futurama. All of the fucktards were in charge and they ruined it. That's exactly where the Simpsons got bad. :/ I am seriously not even going to watch them this season at all. :(

Which is also why Futurama rules >:

Futurama can get away with the wackiness and nonsensical plot turns because it's set in a time period where anything goes. That's how Futurama is and always was from Episode 1.
It's not the same with Simpsons, though. They've been doing wacky and retarded bullshit only since Episode 200, and it's as if it's not even the Simpsons anymore. Matt Groening even said in one of the Season 1 DVD commentaries that the Simpsons was designed to be a show, as crudely drawn as it may be, where there was only true-to-life events and plots, as if it weren't even a cartoon at all. Then these new writers jizzed all over it, put it on TV, and that's what the Simpsons currently is.
The Halloween episode was awful, and I'm seriously considering not watching the rest of the season.
This is just like the new Coke, only they aren't bringing back the classic. >:

You guys are WAY to harsh on the simpsons.
but I do believe that they should have canceled the simpsons instead of futurama. I would really have liked to see more of it and i think it could have gone as long as the simpsons before getting stale.

They have gone to far now...they are gonna burn out in a long pathetic end that wont be for another couple years. By that time, people couldn't give a shit.

What makes me hate it even more is that they fucking rip off family guy now. The show that plenty of people working on the simpsons claimed ripped off the simpsons.
- Main guy becoming death
- Wife becoming all tough and doing things like bar fights and becoming the "butch"
- Fonzy parody resulting in bloody mess
They've gone too far trying to be edgy too. They're gonna have a well known character have gay sex in one of the upcoming seasons too. Fucking pathetic.

dude I am sure they purposly ripped em off, hell remeber that other halloween episode where one of the homer clones is peter griffin?
personally I see that they are in a way paying respect to family guy.
and lets face it family guy would never exist without the simpsons.
sure the episode may have sucked but i would still rather watch it than most shows on tv.

Yeah, the peter griffin thing was funny, but I hate when something is not so much an homage or a tribute as a blatant rip off. If it's a little thing, fine, call it an homage, but an entire segment or episode? That's too much.

I haven't watched a new episode of the Simpsons since the Monkeys Find Diamonds episode.
From the tone of the conversation around here, I suppose I'm grateful for it.

I haven't watched since the 300th episode, with the "skate off" between homer and tony hawk.
