Can someone tell me what makes him so special? I admit his flow was slow and smooth, and he had a few catchy songs, but I blame him for starting the whole "bling bling" craze that plagues hip hop today.

Personally, I think he's the Jim Morrison of hip hop. Does anyone beg to differ? Les?

I think he gets more credit than he actually deserves, while at the same time inspring goobers everywhere to put their bad rhymes to music.

He is overrated, but he's got some good songs. Suicidal Thoughts and Ready to Die are pretty good.

He didn't start the bling bling thing, that was kind of always there. But I do fault him because if it wans't for him, nobody would have heard of Puff Daddy.

Ready to Die is great. "Gimme tha Loot" is one of my favourite hip hop tracks. I agree and hate all the bling bling shit though (his tracks included), but in all fairness Biggie isn't solely responsible for that mess.
