All this publicity over Jessica Lynch is starting to bother me. I don't know why, but it is troublesome. Don't know where it was the hype around her (which, to my regret, succumbed to) or it is the fact that there was another woman who was in the same situation that the general population can't even remember her name.

I wonder why. I'm sure it has nothing to do with her being less attractive and BLACK?!? It's a little late for you too scruple about Jessica, there Vinth. You posted here story here moments after it was off the wire. People like you are the REASON she's getting the TV movie treatment. I have to say though, this is absolutely the greatest indication of depth you've ever given, sensing that maybe, just maybe there's somethinga little unsavory about the publicity machine the administration has made out of this poor person.
HEY! I KNOW! WRITE ABOUT IT ON YOUR WEBSITE, YOU FRIGGIN' LAZY HUMAN COW!

She was a solider who was a POW and now she has a book deal and a TV movie. THAT is what bothers me. For someone who is going on TV and complaining about how the govt videotaped her rescue and is "using" her, she is sure doing a lot of selling of herself. Don't let her lie to you; she sees those dollar signs.

So what you're saying is when the govt. was exploiting and lieing about her story, you were all for it and thought it was great enough to post here, but when she starts exploiting it herself it's lies and dollar signs.
That's make a great angle for a story on a republican with liberatarian leanings web site.

So you don't give a damn that the public is ignoring the other woman because she's black? Damn it, Vinth, I thought you said you weren't racist. Jessica Lynch made it out of a bad situation, and that is amazing. However, she does NOT deserve all of this publicity.
This is what amazes me about mass media. It used to be that it took a while for Hollywood to grow the balls to make a movie about a tragedy. Now, however, we are seeing TV movies about the D.C. Sniper in just a little over a year after it happened. Jessica Lynch already has a contract for her story.
I will officially hate this country when we have a "Tora Tora Tora" style movie about September 11th.

For me, it's more an act of being skeptic of the consumers.

It's pretty sad when the movies about certain tragic cases are aired on television before said case has even made it's way into court (or otherwise resolved).
