Two towns from the Bible that were smote because of all the sinnin' going on in them. Abraham left with his wife, Lot, but she looked back after being told not to, and turned into a pillar of salt.

Actually, Lot was a guy. I forget his wife's name, but she did indeed look back at the burning cities, even though God said not to. She got turned into a pillar of Morton's.

They are also some of the key arguments against homosexuality in the church. Haven't you ever wondered we get the term "Sodomize"?
Also, it's a bunch of BS, in my opinion.

Oh yeah.
I think she was just called "Lot's wife," but I might be wrong about that, too. Either way, I guess now they call her "Old Salt." :lol
Well, the point is that someone was turned to salt. A pillar, no less. I've never seen a solid block of salt larger than a cube, but hey, such is the power of the lord. F34R!!

The wife's name was Lea. Or Leah, not sure how you spell it in the English world.

In English, it's spelled "Bobby Joe".

Bizarro Vince, that was not very Bizarro.
Sodom is in no way biblically connected to Homosexuality. That connotation came much, much later and is purely coloquial.
In fact, the only speciffic sin the sodomites engaged in that is actually mentioned in the Bible is inhospitability. They were bad hosts.

Regardless, the point is that someone was turned to salt.

Lot holed up in a cave with his daughters and ended up fucking both of them and getting them pregnant...it's in the bible.

Actually, the daughters were concerned their bloodline wouldn't continue now that they were all alone in the middle of nowhere and Lea was saltified, so they got Lot so piss drunk he passed out and then they both raped him in his sleep.

I love a good children's story.
It wasn't in my illustrated children's Bible, but you can all print it out and show to your kids here:

That whole site is pretty awesome, by the way.

God wasn't very nice back then. Then again, if you think about man's whole existence as being one day in the eyes of God, then he would have just getting up at that point. I'm pretty grouchy when I first awake too. :)

Wait a minute, I fucked up. Lot's wife isn't mentioned by name. Leah was Laban's daughter and Rachel's sister, and was married to Jacob, son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham and I think grand nephiew of Lot.
Sorry :(

Nowhere in there did I say that the people in Sodom were homosexuals, but that is how it is interpreted today by the church as an argument against homosexuality.

Actualy homosexuality IS metntioned in that story. its the REASON that the dude offers his daughters up. The crowd wanted to rape the two angels that he had invited into his home. And he valued them so much that he offered his own daughters up to an angry mob of rapists. great guy. but yes homosexuality is mentioned in the sodom and gamorrah story, but the real arguments against it are in leviticus and new testament writings.
