I'm not a designer of any sort, but I love to scrutinize every detail of websites that I consider to be "off the beaten path" in every respect. Sound effects, mission statement and/or information specialization, text size and shape, interactive graphics that function as links, etc.

A question I have for those of you here is:

What are the most far-out websites you've come across, overall?

And if you can only think of sites that are "the best of the best", but are so only in certain respects such as "sound effects", etc- go ahead and list those too.

The IRS website (www.irs.gov). Their mission statement is bullshit.

www.gravisphere.com
!Caution! its in chinese.

The old www.biohazardextreme.com site was probably the most well-put together, visually pleasant, creative sites I have ever seen. I was heartbroken when I first saw the "Closed" sign.
