Start making goals of purchasing products you don't need. Obsess over them until you can afford them, and then feel unfulfilled and empty when they are finally yours. Repeat the vicious cycle. When that gets too repetitive buy a house and put up a white picket fence. It will distract you from waiting to die.

See, I thought of doing something like that, but since they didn't rank me #1 (I was their second, or third round draft pick ;) ) I wasn't in a position to demand a signing bonus. :(
