I'm not sure where you are. I think the next step is for you to head to the Grim Reaper club.

Shadowrun is a fun game. SD3 is also great. Played through SD3. You use items like you do in SoM... It should have been easy to figure out. I believe you press X to bring up the ability/item circle thingy and then scroll through the abilities/items, up down etc.

that SD2(SoM) SD3 doesnt have the circle item thingie. if you press start, it brings up the items but all you can do is put them in storage and cant use em. and if u press x (or Y) it brings up all the stats and armor weapons changing stuff!....I chose the warrior path and im in the caves battling som huge crab/spider thingie and in need to figure out how to use the items i get.

Then you're even earlier than I thought.
You should have seen a guy running off the scene. Follow him and you'll find yourself in an alley, with an orc telling you that you shouldn't have entered said alley. Run past the orc and pick up the gun next to the guy's dead body, equip it, and kill the orc.

well i sorta knew that i just wanted to know what the robot dog at the end of the alley meant by "the DOG will show you the way, the DOG knows the answers to all you questions, just give the DOG the three things."

Yes, SD3 has ring menus. No, you don't press start to get to them. The SNES only has so many buttons, start pressing.
