I was watching Dateline last night and Diane Saywer did a story on this guy that stalked Bjork the pop singer. A young fat man of 22 sends package to Bjork that was stopped a day before she would have recieved it ended up disfiguring her. He video taped himself explaining his life and his infatuation for her and showed making his package to her and himself playing with a gun that finally he did himself in after shaving his head and painting his face like Brando in Apocolypse Now. I didn't get the feeling that this guy was mental or derranged. So much time and effort this guy put into his plan it was almost like a media event for a future book or movie. I just wanted to see if anyone would agree with me or not.

what do you mean am I listening to myself. I didn't make this shit up. The guy video taped himself making a chemical bomb to Bjork then sent the package and on the same video he offs himself. I just found the whole thing contrived. Just my opinion. If you didn't see the show or have any knowledge on the sircumstances than why comment?

First of all you never mentioned a chemical bomb. Thats why no one understood how a video of a guy killing himself would disfigure someone. I'd say the chemical bobm would kill not disfigure. How did the guy send out the tape?

He spent so much time and effort and just by chance the police find his body and the tape and they have just enough time to stop his package to Bjork. I think this guy had this all planned even down to the package being stopped

Right. He planned for the blood oozing out of his gaping headwound to leak through the walls of the apartment below him just in time for the police to find his corpse and intercept the package.

I knew the story already, fartin. What I don't get is how you can think an intelligent person can't be deranged.

Scratch that, he's not intelligent. He knew how to make a bomb and he knew how to mail it out. At best he was calculating.

The Unabomber put a lot of planning into his actions and even succeded on quite a few occassions. There is no doubt that he was brilliant.
