At one point I came across a question.
“What is the difference between Catholicism and Roman Catholicism?”

Well to start at the beginning is only fair.

Catholics entire religious practice is based around an ancient Goddess, Semiramis.
She was included in the Babylonian trinity, mother of God and wife of Nimrod. There are many religions that have this Goddess. Well most all of them actually.

She was worshiped throughout the world by each the titles associated with Nimrod's worship, in addition to many titles unique to herself (Table 2, page 15). For instance, the respective Greek and Roman names applied to the worship of Semiramis include: Aphrodite and Venus, the goddess of love; Artemis and Diana, the goddess of hunting and childbirth; Athena and Minerva, the goddess of crafts, war and wisdom; Demeter and Ceres, the goddess of growing things; Gaea and Terra, symbol of the fertile earth; Hera and Juno, the protector of marriage and women, who was the sister and wife of Zeus in Greek mythology, and the wife of Jupiter in Roman mythology; Hestia and Vesta, the goddess of the hearth; plus Rhea or Ops, who was wife and sister of the Greek horned-god Kronos.

Worship of mother and children spread from Babylon to the ends of the earth, but were called different names in the languages of the various counties where their worship appeared. The ancient Germans worshipped the virgin Hertha with the child in the arms of his mother. The Scandinavians called her Disa pictured with her child. In Egypt, the mother and her child were worshiped as Isis with the infant Osiris or Horus seated on his mother's lap. In India, the mother and child were called Devaki and Krishna, and also Isi and Iswara, as they are worshiped to this day. In Asia, they were known as Cybele and Deoius; in pagan Rome, as Fortuna and Jupiter-puer, or the boy Jupiter; in Greece, as Ceres, the great mother with babe at her breast, or as Irene, the goddess of peace, with the boy Plutus in her arms. Even in Tibet, China, and Japan, Jesuit missionaries were astonished to find the Roman counterpart of Madonna and child. Shing Moo, the holy mother in China was portrayed with a child in her arms and a glory around her.

All of the Goddess’ refer back to Semiramis in concept if not being direct copies of her. The Catholic religion is also based thusly. Mary and Jesus are just another representation of this. Yeah I hate to say it, but you Catholics are all worshiping a Pagan Goddess only worked by man for the purpose of power and wealth. The Whore of Babylon was the church it’s self, also being the woman who started it, Semiramis.

Now the Romans persecuted Christians, and through it all they never faltered in their faith. They helped the poor and fed the hungry even as the Romans slaughtered them by the dozens. Fearing the people’s reaction to the treatment and openly posing no threat to the current power structure they would thusly argue with the slaughtering. So the leaders had the perfect solution, create their own version of “Christianity” to convert to. A self serving version of Catholicism and thusly Roman Catholicism was born to shield their own ass’ essentially.

Both are as false and warped as the other is, I would say chose wisely but it doesn’t matter really. I have to work now, so hope this helps.

I'd love to answer the question, but I fear this is one of those hit-and-run threads... :/

Though I don't consider myself a troll, the bottom line is both were created by man. In effect they warped an already standing religion for their own ends. Just the romans took a bastard religion and warped it further.

So how many people that answered this are catholic?
Just makes me wonder.

Everytime I see people having to reach that far to debunk Catholicism, it merely reaffirms my faith in it.

Seriously, you're not deep.

You're not ground breaking.

You're not original.

I've heard it all before. You found a few superficial similarities and jumped to a trendy conclusion that earns you points with your friends at recess.

The least you could have done is to link the site you Googled and then cut 'n pasted to get that.

Your ignorance is offensive, and the fact you missed the rather obvious influence of Mithraism and failed to draw upon the practical political considerations which coloured the ultimate form state-sanctioned institulationalized Christianity would become only serves as an excuse for us to further laugh at your expense.
